« Nathan MacKinnon is worth the price of admission at Ball Arena.

The Colorado Avalanche center entered Wednesday night’s matchup with the Golden Knights having scored at least one point in all 22 home games this season; the fifth-longest such streak in NHL history.

MacKinnon logged 16 goals and 29 assists over that span with the Avs going 17-5-0. His second period assist against Vegas tied a franchise record home points streak set by Joe Sakic (23 games, 2000-01).

“He likes playing here in front of our fans,” Avalanche coach Jared Bednar said.

MacKinnon — [a no-brainer selection to the NHL All-Star game](https://denvergazette.com/sports/colorado-avalanche/avalanche-s-nathan-mackinnon-selected-to-2024-nhl-all-star-game/article_7fb40f9c-ab66-11ee-8baf-631bbe11cc8b.html) — is having an MVP-caliber season at the halfway point. His 66 points before games played Wednesday ranked second in the league behind only Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov (67). MacKinnon is still seeking his first Hart Trophy. »
