  1. Isles fan here, the reason Barzal dislikes Tavares is due to when Tavares in a interview forgot his name and said the kid who won the calder, so now its a running joke whenever Barzal has a big game against Toronto. Isles and Maple Leafs one of the most underrated rivalries in sports right now

  2. This makes a lot of sense to me in my opinion but Sean Monahan to the senators… He’s exactly the type of player they need he can play in the top 6 he’s plays the game the right way and he’s top 10 at the face off dot in the NHL… Hughes said he would trade Monahan to a contender so it most likely doesn’t happen BUT it makes a lot of sense for what the Sens need…

  3. Adam, how do you call yourself a Leafs fan yet you think Matthews hasnt scored the ONLY Leafs 100 point season in the past how many decades? Unreal

  4. Game over montreal witg berkshire was great. But rhe streams had to take a different approach. Pure analysis and game recap is boring. They should have treated it more like a radio show. Let people "call in" with their own takes. Taking part in tge chat just isnt the same.

  5. Soo are there only 3 shows left at SDPN? There was no official statement, just a public apology to those that lost their jobs. Not that they dont deserve the apology, but dont fans of the respective shows deserve an official statement from the Company? Instead of hearing the show is finished from hosts.

  6. Sorry to hear about the layoffs. I don't know a lot about having a channel on YouTube, but from the outside looking in, I think being a one team centered show is really handcuffing how much you can grow. There's so much Leaf coverage online, there's only so many subscribers to grab. You guys are well known enough that if you focused less on the leafs and expanded to cover the whole league, your subscribers would increase. You can still be a leafs first show, but expand the conversation.
I'm the farthest thing from a leafs fan as your gonna get, but i still watch knowing you still talk about other teams.
You don't have to be as thorough as THG, but expanding the content expands a potential audience. Just my 2 cents.

  7. Is this the beginning of the end for the company? Would really suck to bet on yourself and it not pay off.

    Take care, fellas.

  8. Leafs are starting to look like last seasons Flames with those OT Losses piling up. We know what happened there dont we?

  9. The problem is, the pandemic is over. Way less people watching everything, so ad revenue is down, even for the big players.

That said, the Game Over shows were very amateurish, and I can see why in part they didn't succeed long term.

  10. "Last week as been so brutal for that guy (Hymen)"

Hyman has 9 points (6 goals) in his last 5 games and the Oilers are on a 9 games winning streak. I think the lad is doing great.

  11. I’m may just be misremembering, but isn’t the actual story with the Canucks and Petey not that they weren’t sure that they didn’t want him, but that they weren’t sure if he was the 100 point player or not? Petey had been coming off two years where has was both hurt, and honestly not that good so they were wondering which was the real Pettersson. I feel like Adam has made a joke that he actually started believing was what actually happened.

  12. Nothing about the oilers? Another 9 game heater, 3 points out of 3rd in the pacific. One of the hottest teams out there

  13. The fact they only allocated 6min to the fact they laid off almost 20 people is disgusting I’m so ashamed of this program I love

  14. I was under the impression the game over channels were volunteer based. I know the individuals were selected and dedicated to it but i thought it was setup to be an experiment from the beginning to see how it would be accepted

  15. Tired of this team not taking advantage of their leads. Not taking care of business. Giordano, Brodie, Domi need to take a seat.

  16. Related to your conversation about Nick Robertson and players being able to develop later. Valeri Nichushkin scored ZERO goals in 57 games in his age 23 season. Today at 28 years old he's sitting in the top 10 in league scoring.

  17. 1:09:00 … Yeah… That never happened. This was all invented by the media.

In reality, Pettersson said he wants to play for a winning team and the Canucks said they want players to be excited to play in Vancouver. They were on the same page.

  18. Just something you really need to understand. Robertson…. Remember this. Leafs are up against the cap. Someone offers him 3 million… see the problem? He is not worth that, and matching hurts your salary cap. Like Carolina giving Kotkaniemi 1 year 6 million. He was also everything you just described when speaking about Robertson. It’s unlikely to happen, but understand that because the Leafs are in cap hell, a RFA can be poached due to cap constraints and offsetting a budget required.

  19. I'll be real here, when major corporations lay off people they usually don't make statements like, "well everyone else is foing it". Just say it sucks, because it does. Say it was, while unfortunate, necessary for the long-term health of the company, which it was. I'm glad they at least admitted that they made mistakes but all they had to do was listen to their die-hard listeners who said that GameOver wasn't what was wanted or needed. This is a learning experience for sure and I hope this ends in a positive for everyone.

  20. Hey guys I'm unsure who you guys have had to cut? Is it all game over shows and what's their platform information? I'd like to still support the people.

  21. Layoffs are brutal, but I think its important to keep in mind that his is not Activision laying off 700+ employees after a year of record profits for Bobby Kotick's bonus, this is a small business trying to stay afloat. Hope everyone affected bounces back quickly.

  22. I've removed my subscription to this channel based on what happened with the Winnipeg show and others. And I'll be encouraging others to do the same. As far as others not finding this entity, I barely found it a month or two ago. Specifically Lyss Houde and Brady who were covering Winnipeg sports.

Decisions have consequences… your choices will have implications and this is one of them. Not a good choice, in my estimation to exclude markets like Winnipeg.

  23. Did we not listen to Steve complain about the Leafs core deals recently because RFAs don't have leverage? But Petterson does?

  24. Game Over Toronto became such a huge part of how I experience hockey and I'm really going to miss it. Thank you for addressing the issue and not trying to sugar coat it or minimise the impact of the decision on the people who lost their jobs. It sucks that it couldn't keep going.

  25. Now this might sound a little out there but let’s just imagine someone like Marc Andre Fluery gets traded to Toronto for next to nothing (low end picks and a prospect or something) and Minnesota retains some salary. Only for the “Flower” to somehow return to his former form and helps lead Toronto to the Stanley Cup finals. And yes I know what’s wrong with this statement. His age, his numbers, his play this year are obviously the cap hit. But if somehow that worked, how great of a story 🎉👌😎

  26. Sorry to hear that you guys had to do that layoff stuff. I've been a fan of Steve and the pod since around 2019 or 2020 and I just wanted to say that your content got me through some hard times. I relate to Steve a ton as a 36 year old with a toddler that's about the same age. Sometimes I just leave my laptop with your videos running cause' I want you guys to succeed more than anything else on YouTube. I don't have an opportunity to hang out with many people as a busy Dad, but when I turn on the pod it's just like hanging out with old friends…or "the B'ys" as they says back home. Anyways, wish you guys the best going forward, and I look forward to the future content.

  27. Hey guys, great channel and fantastic episode as always. You know what? Screw everyone IN Long Island! It's been 5 or 6 years since their captain DEDCIDED to come to the Toronto Maple Leafs and they're still butthurt.

Next time the team that plays IN Long Island comes to Toronto, why don't we boo them every single time they touch the puck. Not just a few times, but every single time, and bloody loudly!

    Nobody messes with OUR captain!

  28. Man…that outro really resonated with me. Being in a similar start-up situation (in a totaly different business) sucks no matter what side of the fence you are on…
I know you are not supposed to take it personally…but in the end you are only human.
    Hang in there.

  29. Hey Steve. I do not want a sucker run by Ottawa. We screw the pooch early and then do the sucker run when it doesn't matter. I would rather jettison the princesses from this team!

  30. I want an apology from Pinto for helping to f up this team along with the rest. Especially as his error was self-inflicted. Way to help your team idiot !
