I’d be down to go with Daws-Schmid the rest of the year

  2. Batfleck666

VV should get less than 10 starts the rest of the season

  3. nostradamefrus

Finally! A well played, hard fought, deserved win. Love to see it

I just realized I forgot to make dinner between NFL playoffs and our game so I should probably figure that out

  4. iamtheprodigy

What a breath of fresh air Daws has been. Can’t rely on performances like that every game of course, but we’ve suffered through so many poor quality starts this season that we are due some goalie steals for sure.

  5. fartswhenhappy

Might need to buy a Daws sweater.

  6. Ride the lightning, great win. Still lots of catching up to do but those are two big points. I can’t wait to get day drunk and watch Devils hockey on Monday to celebrate the life of MLK JR. See y’all on Monday.

  7. dog_fantastic

3/4 points on what probably 95% of us thought would be total pain. Love to see it

  8. PTA_Meeting

My only criticism is Luke on the PP, too much risky fancy shit. 1 out 15 times he makes a beautiful play, its not enough. Obviously he’s gonna be sick in a couple years but he’s not there yet, overconfident IMO.

  9. Dincht04

Honestly 3 points from those two games, with half an AHL roster, is really good going. Huge win, especially given Washington’s win earlier.

  10. multiplemiggs1

Didn’t we end a long Florida win streak last season?

  11. RakimWebster

Chalk that up as one of the biggest wins of the season. Injury ridden devils go into the leagues hottest teams building and take two points. Of course Daws will be the story line, but that was a really good team effort. Got out in front early and goaltending made the key saves needed to win games.

If tonight wasn’t eye opening to Ruff to have Daws be the main guy until further notice, then I don’t know what else could be done. Daws was sensational

  12. mikefred2014

Is this like the 1st or 2nd time we allowed less than 2 goals?

  13. whichwitch9

The Devils have had to change the way they play. Panthers definitely expected a speed game and got a grind instead. The Devils can win if they play like this, but I’d like to see this type of grind blend more into their play when healthy, tho

Pp needs to be flipped. Start with unit 2. Unit 1 is disjointed because it’s still trying to click without Hughes

  14. Take a shot every time Bratt says “obviously”

One of the **BEST** Team Games of the Season:

    * First things first, NICO DAWS MY BELOVED. God if he got that goalie goal I would have…I dunno I probably would have done something insane. He deserved that first star through and through. What an effort by him. What a game! Wow.
    * Secondly, Lindy, you baffle me, every single line looked good. Like that fourth line even had its moments.
    * WE ENDED FLORIDA’S WIN STREAK. WE TOOK TWO POINTS FROM FLORIDA. Thats three points in total on this road trip, which is more than I could have hoped for.
    * Also, generally, fuck the Panthers.
    * PP is still…womp womp. They won’t be able to practice much until they’re home again, but man, I’m getting PTSD from last season when we gave up the most shorties.
    * PK definitely looking a littttttle better, but our special teams do need to be improved.
    * We also got out of that without losing another player, thank fuck.
    * Such a good fucking team effort. Honestly. The boys were there for each other. Backing each other up. The work they did in front of the net and Daws was also great. I saw so many plays where a Devil was there to gobble up a loose puck and get it out of danger.
    * This string of games, Tampa and Florida, really is giving me so much hope right now. Like we can play like this consistently. Very good sixty minute effort tonight.
    * Lets bring that momentum to Boston and steal more points on this roadie.
    * I think this team kind of thrives on being underestimated and the underdog. Like I think having all of that hype and attention in the beginning of the season probably didnt do much for them, but now when they’re in a position where they’re clawing their way into a playoff spot, they seem to be answering the call.
    * Anyway REAL HAPPY ABOUT THIS GAME! Stick taps, helmet bonks, all around for the boys, ESPECIALLY NICO DAWS.

AND! The cherry on top! I won the auction for the Alexander Holtz API Heritage Jersey! HUZZAH

  16. dog_fantastic

Ughh and of course the Jets would be down by 2 against Philly

  17. Kornja81

Now despite over 30 shots, they were injured and fucking battled. What an effort. VV is not needed anymore. Love ya hibachi, but it’s a business

  18. HopelessEsq

3 out of 4 points so far on a tough road trip playing with I think 8 players from our opening night roster and missing half of our top six. Nico Daws was fucking outstanding against the hottest team in the league. Gutsy win by the boys. If we get st least a point against Boston we’re in pretty decent shape to get into the playoffs. Should have been a SO for Daws. He deserved it, that penalty at the end of the second period was horse shit game management. The boys fought hard tonight. Love that Daws EN attempt. Third period was an onslaught and he was confident the whole time.

  19. Thehawkman2

The fact that this team can compete with a depleted roster and can win when it get competent goaltending shows how good this team actually is.

We should all be very happy about that.

  20. alldying

Great win. Hoping the ducks somehow stave off the lightning…

  21. ProfessionalTitle843

Weird question watching the lindy interview has he ever had a stroke or palsy or something because then left side of his face doesnt move

  22. Cheesy_Big_Green

So we keeping Daws in net now, right?

  23. Inevitable-Tourist18

Daws needs to play now and be given a chance to take the #1 job. Not next season, now.

Vitek is not good enough and there’s no point in holding Daws back now. He needs experience in games that mean something.

  24. Acqua24

    NICO DAWS:

    3-1
    .916 sv %
    2.75 gaa

If you’re not convinced that he should be getting the bulk of the starts after tonight you’re just not with it…the team frankly plays better in front of him other than that Nucks game.

  25. LaHondaSkyline

Great win. Needed win. Daws deserves that first star of the game recognition he got from the media.

This team is good enough to be near the top of the league if it had overall better goaltending. Maybe Daws can be above average and Vitek can get back to league average for the rest of the year. Vitek has it in him. He did it last year. Maybe he can do it again.

  26. MaroonMarauder

Thank god we weren’t up against E. Net all game, because god that guy was good tonight. I’m surprised we were able to get one by him lol

Seriously though, how is sinking the empty netter seem like the hardest thing in the world for us and whenever our goal is empty it takes like 6 seconds for the other team to put one in.

  27. NJDevils1

I could see Daws not starting as much because of his injury potentially (especially an earlier game in Boston), but if he’s not officially our #1 tendy I don’t know what to say

  28. sapphires_and_snark

    Dear Lindy,

Daws is your No. 1 goalie. Nemec is your No. 1 defenseman.

    Thanks for listening,
    sapphires_and_snark

  29. Audi_R8_

Can the flyers fuck off, who do they think they are beating the best team in the NHL

  30. AISwearengen

Nemec feels like an old pro already. I thought he was more of a high floor, lower ceiling type guy, but it’s looking like the sky is the limit for him. When the man strength comes, he will have zero weaknesses.

  31. brendans98

Can we please never play Vitek again

  32. MeefBard

Final score 4-1, VV’s number 41, take this how you will

  33. NoFearsNoTears

Imagine if Daws got a low taper fade

  34. JFreader

Worst 4-1 I’ve ever seen. But I’ll take it.

  35. danisnotstan

Great win tonight… of course Pittsburgh just pulled one out of their ass with 1 minute left to steal a point or two, Caps won, Flyer’s look like they might hold on and there’s always that real chance that NYI goes to OT.

  36. Ok-Audience6618

Why is the Haula goal unassisted? It looked like Nico (the non-goalie one) made the pass to him.

  37. DavidPuddy666

Luke has no clue wtf to do on the PP without Jack. Those missed drop passes were ugly.
