Idk but he paid the price for it immediately

  2. TacticalYeeter

    Yes.

Now watch everyone come say “he should learn to protect himself!” And all the other dumb shit that always comes on these posts.

Clearly boarding, matches every checkpoint and at the end of the day the rule says it’s on the checking player to make sure the player they’re hitting isn’t in a vulnerable position. Following through after an obvious shot is one of those.

Got his ass beat for it immediately which is great.

See the above link to the NHL video rulebook. Yet people will still argue.

  3. theomegafact

Vince Dunn is having none of that shit

  4. togocann49

Ya gotta take the guy to the boards (so guy doesn’t toppled/hit boards badly) and blue jacket guy obviously did not, and it’s pretty clear he even push away, like this was an open ice hit, which it is not.

  5. misantropo86

Looks like boarding. Glad he got his ass beat.

  6. grimmdrum

I love watching Dunner fuck people up

  7. Think-Weather4866

Boarding, and Beniers is out now.

  8. this_name_not_that

100% Boarding, all day, every day.

  9. SayWHATagain93

I Love the assertive reaction. All sports need to learn something from hockey.

  10. BangYourHead

Dunn is a serious teammate, I love to see this type of reaction. Stand up for your teammates!

I’ve never seen Vince Dunn fight. Now I have. And based on this, I wouldn’t want to piss him off. Just ragdolled that Blue Jackets player. He looked pissed after that hit on that Seattle Kraken player. (Sorry, I don’t know their names).

  12. Malaise4ever

This is exactly the 5 minute major the Leafs took a few weeks ago.

  13. fl3et15

Absolutely it’s boarding. Glad Dunner wrecked him immediately

  14. marsisblack

100% yes. Defenceless player and checked into the boards. Jacket player made no attempt to slow up or soften that hit.

  15. MooshSkadoosh

Can someone explain why it is boarding? I assume it has to do with the « defenseless player » part of the penalty (came from the rear / side) and the distance from boards?

  16. -Robrown-

Umm yes. And not only is it boarding, but he comes from a blind spot making the hit even more dangerous. The beating that ensued is 100% deserved.

  17. Ladle19

I’m now a kraken fan. Fuck yeah. Dude landed like 5 clean uppercuts then threw his ass on the ground like he was nothin.

  18. whycantyoucomprehend

Columbus fans loved the hit but then looked shocked he got the brakes beat off him by Dunn 😂

  19. Eazy3006

Jeez ! Dunn sure fed him some fist ! That was a beautiful ass whooping.

  20. TwistedNipplez

« Don’t touch Matty you fucking bitch! » – Vince Dunn probably

    And definitely boarding.

  21. turdbirglar

100% boarding and could be career ending. He tasted some upper cuts for that cheap hit.

  22. DepressoEspresso45

Dunn sure gave him a can of kickass

  23. Know-yer-enemy1818

Vinny Dunn is a solid defensemen

  24. power0722

Proud to be a Kraken fan, watching team mates cover each other’s backs like that. You come for one you come for all.

  25. TheMCM80

    Yup, boarding. Dangerous hit.

What was the outcome of the follow up fight? Did 29 get tossed from the game for instigating/retaliation? Did they both get fighting penalties?

  26. Medical_Movie_4557

Love Dunn’s response, kind of teammate I’d want…

  27. DiogenesBarrelisCozy

I cannot comprehend any argument against the removal of fighting from Hockey.

I understand the sentiment (s). — CTE, example set for kids, barbarianism (not)…

BUT – the deterrent of having a 200+ or minus person punch you in the face repeatedly versus sitting on a bench for two?

Hockey is actually less barbaric/violent because fighting exist . It is executed with respect, oft mutually consensual, if not well deserved as a minor reminder of respect for the safety of your fellow athletes.

To some perhaps paradoxically , it’s actually the most civilized and mutually respectful way to maintain the integrity of the game. People are actually held accountable.

What a beautiful game and it’s manifestation & in its cohesive, brotherly self imposed communal respect for its small and exclusive community of competitors.

  28. LandEnvironmental774

No. Head up. Facing the goal. Over a foot away from the boards. That’s a clean, legal hit.
