Daws had some huge saves on some very high danger scoring chances in every period. Beast of a game, best goaltending we’ve seen in a long time.

As someone who may have a brain aneurysm next time Vitek loses us a game, I feel like we need to pump the breaks on Daws.
He may make me feel tingly inside, but he’s just a kid still and I don’t want to ruin him by giving him the load too quickly. The best goalie tandems are the ones where the young guy gets to thrive and grow under a controlled workload, a la Ullmark/Swayman.
That being said, even two years ago when he was up here for 20+ games, I thought he looked great. Great enough that I thought it was odd when Schmid won our backup role over him. But I’m starting to think that was either due to injury or due to the organization wanting daws to play more and prepare him for a bigger role.
