  1. The fact that he got up from the hit only shows how tough these players are…

  2. Why was the crowd so not into it? Like they shoulda gone wild….typical for Tampa I guess

  3. I have a feeling he just earned a spot on the bench. That was the hardest, cleanest open ice hit I've seen in years

  4. And that's the biggest problem with the Ducks roster right now. They are all so young that they've learned the new way of playing hockey in North America; they're playing the way the hockey moms fought to change: no checking or hard physical contact. They haven't learned how to check or to receive a check.

  5. Ross Johnston, the guy while playing for Moncton in the QMJHL, took a baseball swing at a player hitting him in the jaw breaking it all because he was mocked when his stick was caught between two panes of class.

  6. Why the league hasn't cracked down on this yet is beyond me. They need rules like football has- play the ball (puck), incidental contact only, no targeting. Nsgaf if this is still technically considered legal, a dude just got CTE. Head just got jarred twice in a row, you wouldn't be celebrating if that was you or someone close

Tampa fan btw, so I don't even wanna hear it

  7. looked bad full speed but slow mo, shoulder to shoulder solid hit. Gotta keep your head up. Johnson needs to talk to his player and teach him to protect himself.

  8. It's a clean hit, but Ducks had to take a 2 for instigating and fight Lileberg. Bad for momentum and morale if you let huge hits like that go unpunished.

  9. The advancement of skating skills matched with size and strength makes keeping your head up and on a swivel important.

  10. This is the kids 4th NHL game and he did that to a 6'5" 220lb man! Unfortunate landing for Leason, though. Hope he can recover quickly.

  11. I’m sorry but this kind of hit against some poor player from an uncompetitive team is just douchebag behaviour.

  12. good job ducks. nice retaliation. now they know they shouldnt throw big hits. glad to see someone stand up for the guy who got hit.

  13. Seeing more and more of these young players skating with their head down thinking that no one will hit them. Welcome to the NHL. I don’t want to see dirty hits that injure players, but hits like this can really change the momentum for a team. Wish more teams would do it.
