Knies, Kampf, Gregor line is a crime against humanity. Whosever idea that was needs to go to jail for violating the eighth amendment because watching that line was a cruel and unusual punishment.

  2. Dmbpjfan

Samsonov looked defeated leaving the ice.

Im sure there will be a lot of comments here about Tavares not being able to drive his own line without another superstar, I mean considering he makes 11 million dollars and all

Between a delayed game, return of Holl, Sammy in net, and a big line shakeup, all on a back to back, this game had the makings of bad juju.

Not sold on these lines in terms of chemistry, though there are some individual pieces (Matthews/Nylander, Domi/Marner) that are fair to try out. I supoose considering the back-to-back, I can’t necessarily say it’s unfair to try these lines out longer to try to fine chemistry.

Lot of good individual effort from certain players. Benoit continues to be an excellent pickup and quickly becoming one of my favourite defensemen, what a save by him. I think McCabe has looked mosty excellent lately as well, throwing a lot of big hits, unfortunately, the past few games, he has one fuckup that leads to a goal. people a little on him, I think. Domi’s been really working these past few games. And of course…

Is it safe to say Holmberg’s earned a longer look as part of this team? What a game for him. A good clean hit on Kane (took him out of the game with it too), drew a penalty, got a goal… didn’t look bad on the top line at all. Not that Knies has been bad either, fucking far from it, nor am I saying that Holmberg should necessarily stay top line, but he’s definitely proving his possible value as part of the lineup moving forward. Anyone else have thoughts on this?

I used to get angrier at these results. After 35 years I just don’t care anymore.

  6. hymensmasher99

This team is terrible man. We are not making the playoffs if we continue to play the way we are. Sheldon Keefe has to go. He fucking sucks

  7. blakezed

idk man that line juggling made the team look worse

  8. tbnation

Wish these guys gave as much of a fuck as us sitting at home

  9. Hulkcini

Real possibility they go 0-4 out in Western Canada and Seattle.

  10. The-Only-Razor

    It’s time for a change.

Berube is available. Please don’t waste another fucking season of this. The team needs the new coach bump, and Berube won a cup doing exactly that. Enough is enough. We’re not contenders right now.

It ain’t as bad as losing to a Zamboni Drover or the COVID Canucks or blowing a multi-goal lead but man losing to a team that arrived right before punk drop is still pretty bad.

  12. twizzyflyguy

GREAT, TAMPA AND WINGS ONE POINT BACK, and the next 5 GAMES are good teams

  13. DaltonFitz

I’m going to enjoy every year we have Auston Matthews on our team, but this current team simply doesn’t have what it takes to win a cup. They still fold under pressure. Chip and a chair for the next 8 years, I guess.

  14. Kinglokner16

Team shows up 90 mins before puck & drop & we still lose… it was predictable but HOLY SHIT can this core stop living up to stereotypes other fans have with us?

  15. Entire-Company3064

There’s no reason to blame Sammy for that loss. Good bounce back game from him.

  16. thedrivingcat

Keefe has to go, right? Shanahan/MLSE has to be looking at how Edmonton turned it around.

  17. ElephantShell34

Remember the thread asking if Keefe had ever outcoached a team?

Tonight was a classic case of him trying something weird with the lines that just does not work at all.

  18. Leafs have won like one impressive game in the last month basically (Kings). Defense just isn’t good enough. Three straight blown leads. I dunno what to do but it seems like something needs to change.

  19. So this core has obviously peaked and is trending downword. They gave an insane contract to Nylander and still have no defense…What’s next exactly?

  20. Kinger15

Wings arrive at 6pm and are more ready to play then the home team

Also, the defense making childish mistakes game after game. Maybe they should have hired a decent D man to run this part of the team rather than Mike van Ryn who has proved that he cannot.

  21. CasualtyEH

This coach is straight up losing the Leafs games. What the fuck is he doing with this 4th line shit every fucking game?

  22. rodimus117

I’ve wanted Keefe gone since the playoff loss to Montreal. Barely winning one playoff series isn’t even close to acceptable. Now we look like a WC team at best with a roster of “generational talent”

  23. DrinkMoreBrews

To summarize the last 3 games:
    – Chance to redeem themselves in Long Island after blowing the JT 1000 points game and silencing the crowd, end up blowing a lead and another AM34 multi-goal game and lose
    – Get out to a 3-0 first period lead against one of the better teams in the league, blow the lead, lose
    – Have a chance to get a big 2 points against a divisional rival that showed up late to the game, blow a lead and lose

    Meanwhile, our $44 million Top 4 combined for a whopping 4 points (Matthews 2G, Marner 1G 1A)

    Time for a coaching change?

And suddenly, Tampa and Detroit appear real close in the standings

    EDIT: spelling
