Twitter : http://www.twitter.com/canuckclay Instagram : http://www.instagram.com/claytonimoo #canucks #nhlplayoffs

  1. I would hope they land ferland he can play with pettersson and boeser and protect them as well also trouba is probaly on the outs with the jets

  2. They could kick tires around with the jets for a winger as both Connor and laine are RFA and with the jets current cap space they might move one it would be a kings ransom but to land laine to play with pettersson and boeser chances it would never happen but you never know

  3. Ferland absolutely. We can pay him a but more than other teams, and he gets to join a young core that's going to be really successful going forward. I think he has reason to want to come to Vancouver, and I think Vancouver desperately needs him. He can play a little gritty which is good for us, but he also knows how to score in front of the net. Boeser and Pettersson would love be to have him on their wing. If not, Gaudette and Virtanen could be some good pairs for him

  4. Vancouver needs Size speed and grit and Micheal Ferland is great and he love to throw that big heavy body check and his puck retrieval skill is unreal. And he can skate just as fast as pettersson and has a really heavy accurate shot and loves to stand in front of the net. Something that canucks are really lacking is that heavy physical net presence thar has finish and also has great vision for them set up plays as well. Plus Jim Benning was kicking the tires on him just befor the trade deadline this year And for the draft id like to see the canucks pick Philip Broberg because he is 6'2 200lbs and is super fast and can really drive the play from the back end! His offensive play would give vancouver another dimension on the back end for the PP and on 5v5 and 3v3

  5. “Some of our skilled players aren’t the biggest. Do we need to make sure we surround them with players who can supply that physicality as well as being good enough players to help our younger guys develop?” – Jim Benning (April 16th, 2019)
I think for this and a lot of other reasons Benning is going to target Ferland, big physical guy, that put up 21 goals playing mainly on the first line in Calgary with Mon and Johnny. He wont be too expensive, and I'm assuming Carolina won't overpay him which will happen with whatever team lands him. Considering their prospect line and likes of success without him due to injuries. I personally am fine if we get Ferland on a short-mid term max. If somebody signs him for Six or seven years, that's going to become a huge gamble, but also potentially high reward.

  6. Kind of arm chair GMing here but I think a Hockey trade(s) route needs to be explored. Benning has a relatively good resume with Hockey trades and I believe if we go into next season with the same look, there's a very small chance we make the playoffs. I think our most valuable trade chip outside of the core, is Ben Hutton. With a flurry of LD in our roster, we have to look at moving somebody. And with Quinn going nowhere and the ships sailed for a Elder trade, it's really only Hutton. And I understand we aren't going to get too much for him, but If we could pry a a RHD prospect of a B level caliber to a team that needs young stability faster. Or if we could package Hutton with a draft pick of next year we could certainly land a B+ prospect or a younger forward. Regardless things have to change.

  7. Brogan rafferty also looked like he has potential to be a top 6 defensman. A like week in his first game but the second game he did very well. Also a right shot so he can fit in perfectly.

  8. Not too sure about the UFAs, except maybe Ferland. In the draft, I’d like to see Boldy at 10…then figure out how to get back in the first round, somewhere around 20-25 and draft the big German D, Seider. Better scoring touch than expected, better than avg skating and lots of size

  9. I would stay away from free agents, they are too expensive. We need to be good cap managers, as we have a couple of players that are gong to be getting paid very well. I think there are too many teams against the cap that will need to move players. I lean towards getting a top six winger. I think there is a chance that Jett Woo may surprise at camp. Rafferty looked good. They are getting some defensive depth happening. Unless they can get a true top three defenseman I would look at developing from with in. They have guys knocking on the door that deserve a chance.

  10. Edler too old injury prone I wouldn't signed Him. Time for kids to shines Quinn Hughes could skate miles In his sleep .Its ok to make mistakes just take time
