This wasn't a hell run for the Avs it was a hell run for their opponents
Nichushkin was absolutely missed, regardless of the outcome of the game… his forecheck and his ability to DEMAND the attention of 2 players of the opposing team when he's muscling the puck across the red line and into the offensive zone just helps soften everything else up around him and allow for an easier score. Overall it was a gritty, very physical game that featured endless amounts of back-n-forth in the neutral zone and had a playoff hockey feel to it, but thankfully the ice tilted in our favor and we stood strong in the moments that mattered most.

The 2nd period was OUTSTANDING! they were swarming the Leafs all over the place😅
This team has some depth this year. Yes Mackinnon is playing so insanely consistently but he's not having to be all world for us to score 4 or 5 goals.
Also another sub .900 save percentage where Georgie played well and won, I'm starting not to care about his stats
Our top 6 for the cup run were Landeskog, MacKinnon, Rantanen, Kadri, Burakovsky and Nichushkin. This year's top 6, even when healthy aren't touching that group. Still, I believe we have enogh talent in the top 6 to make decent run.
I believe Winny and Dallas fans got him in there…no rest.

Band-Maid Sound Check #19 I have to say as the Avs just keep producing with a depleted roster and moving players around, I have to go with the song "Forward". The Avs aren't feeling sorry for themselves or making excuses, they just keep moving on.
Sorry but anyone that actually played sports growing up knows that no matter how many Goals-Points that a team is down Never give up. Anything can Happen. As the Avs have proven many many times this season. Even if a game is going 6-0 you dont turn it off or throw the towel in No matter what professional sport it is.
Mac has been playing to make a case this season as the best player in the NHL. He is coming off of a year that he went off and missed a bunch of games. In my opinion Nathan has been if not the best the Second Best Player in All of the NHL for some time now.

I found the final score of 5-3 kind of funny considering Toronto trying to avoid a longer 5-3 penalty and not touching the puck that Nate threw right to them resulted in the first goal of the comeback. Although the team is different than 2022, they seem to have a similar mojo to what they had in January 2022 when they went on a run and ran away with the west. And I think this team is deeper than the cup team even without an established 2C. And as Malinski just gets better and better, they very well might be better on the backend. Not sure if JJ is going to be out for any length of time but a Makar-Toews, Girard-Manson and Byram-Malinski blueline is sexy. Malinski has definitely studied Cale because although he’s not Cale, has some similar characteristics in his skating and willingness to shoot from just about anywhere. Loving that kid who just happens to be from my hometown of Lakeville where I grew up.

Dk was leagues better than goergiev has played, and so was franky during the cup run. Between those 2 and no Landy this team isnt even close. Doesnt mean they cant be successful but they arent in the same arena as that team
