As a Ranger fan, I'm ecstatic that Kaako is a Ranger. But, Hughes would have been nice, too. For one thing, Hughes is a center and Kaako is a winger. Center always trumps wingers. Still, pleased as punch that the Rangers got Kaako. Agree that Hughes will be very good for the Devils, which is another favorite team of mine. Looking forward to following their careers going forward.
I like to think Jack is going to score get 25 goals and 40 assists in 82 games. 0.79 points per game average. I’d like to think in season two 32-55 in 82 games 1.06 points per game because having Bratt and maybe Jesper Boqvist can add a lot of lightning speed, skill, talent and smarts. PK, Severson, Vatanen, and Ty Smith on the back end can provide the points for Hughes to score in bunches.
As a Devils fan, I would be happy with 50 points while secretly hoping that he develops into a generational talent who will put the team on his back and make the Devs a perennial contender again.

I don’t think Hughes will have a very good first season, playing in a league of mostly kids around his age and dominating. Going from being able to skate coast to coast almost easily to the NHL is gonna be a big jump for hughes and he will have a poor first season or at least a couple months. After that he should be elite from there on out. He’s not gonna win the calder in my opinion but don’t write that in stone. Not trying to argue just sharing my ideas
Nico put up 52 points (20 goals 32 assists) in his first season. I think it is feasible to expect that if not more from Jack Hughes. I also think he could help elevate both Jesper Bratt & Pavel Zacha's play on the ice due to his playmaking ability.
Will be fun to see kakko and hughes play against each other in the NHL

As a Devils fan I'd be content with 50ish points. Ecstatic with anything over 60-70. I think it will be take a slight adjustment period but if he plays with Hall it could be deadly

Hughes will put up similar numbers to Nico in his rookie year. Nico will edge Hughes out in his rookie year performance because Nico brought a 200 ft game as an 18 year old and I don't think Hughes will bring that.
Hall-Hischier-Bratt on the first line, Boqvist-Hughes-Palmieri on the second.
I do not think Hall and Hughes will play together. Their styles do not mesh well. Both of their styles revolve very heavily around having the puck on their stick. Keeping them separate is for the best
