  1. if they could make schmidts contract disapear. they could snipe a few ppl for a cup run and end up in better shape for the following year. they can def afford to dumb some picks here as they have some people in th epipeline now that can replace outgoing players in the next 2-3yrs

  2. I would look at trading for Casey Mittelstaat with Buffalo. He's about 24 yrs old,
was a 1st round pick, and is only making about $ 2.5 mil per year as an RFA.Last
year he had 60 points in 82 games, and this year he has 35 points in 41 games
so far, so he's on pace for a 70 point season. Buffalo has a losing record this
year, so if you offered a top propect like McGroarty ( unproven) and a 2nd round
pick, maybe he could be had ? Be a great acquisition, rather than an older guy
making a lot of money, that could upset team chemistry.

  3. Instead of trading if theirs room to add to the lineup maybe Perry if available or interested, he'd add more depth, skill; and experience for a deep playoff run! Other then that all those trades seem pretty reasonable and beneficial but like you said we got such a good squad up and down and guys coming back off injuries we don't really need to make any trades it's a well built team

  4. I don't see Couturier as a JETS player. His contract is really big and I think there's better value for the position out there to be had.

  5. Any addition would likely be just a rental, doubt they are looking at anyone with term beyond this year as both Perfetti and DeMelo are due raises and even Dillon should they re-sign him. Lindholm would be a great get but Calgary will be asking a lot, Adam Henrique could be a low-key solid addition. Strong on faceoffs and on pace for 20g-40+ pts, he wouldn't cost as much as a Lindholm would.

  6. They need a 2C that can win faceoffs and a right shot D-man that has a hard shot that can give the anemic PP a different look. Even with all the winning, those are this team's biggest issues.

Giroux would be the perfect second-line center the Jets need. You look at 3 lines centered by Scheifele, Giroux, Lowry, and you have strong depth at the center position. Giroux is great in the faceoff circle, and he provides offense, especially on the PP. The only question will be does he want to have a chance to win, or does he want to remain close to home? Being close to home was part of the reason he signed in Ottawa. He certainly did not expect Ottawa to continue being this bad, though.

Lindholm would be great, too, but he would strictly be a rental, unless Chevy is willing to make him the highest-paid guy on the team. He's good at faceoffs, is great on the PK, defensively responsible, and is almost 7 years younger than Giroux.

  7. What about Zegras in Anaheim? They've got a few centers in Anaheim with Cutter Gauthier signing on, parting with one might be an option.

  8. I agree Jets need a man who can win more then 52% faceoffs but if the Jets are going to go big and give up solid prospects and picks it has to be for a guy who has at least some term and won’t walk this summer

  9. You talk about guys that aren't even available.

Trades will be for rentals. Teams aren't trading guys that can play who are signed to the 2030s.

  10. Unpopular opinion (although mine typically aren't) Jets should look to trade Stanley and use the fact that his size alone could get them a more seasoned defenseman. Not going to say who cuz that's Chevy's job but he's a guy I could see getting more bang than buck for. I know he doesn't lace up often but those are just my current two cents. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!

  11. Couturier won't move as long as Philly's in the playoffs. And that's too much money. I like Giroux but my favorite would be Lindholm.

  12. Logan Stanley and Appleton and that 2nd round pick for Lindholm. Sign Perry and sign Temmu Saline(deserves a ring) only to play last game here
