They have largely been replaced by “promotional ticket nights”, which are tickets where you pay extra money, and get a promotional item. Which is nearly always (~95% of the time) just the same baseball cap with a hawks logo on the front, and a logo of whatever the promo night is (usually a university like Loyola or UIC or Iowa for some reason, or a nationality like Greek).

It’s garbage. Gone are the days of Strome and Cat salt & pepper shakers, bobble heads, Zamboni gravy boats, snow globes for the first 10,000 fans. I think there’s only been about 2-3 true giveaways this year, a winter hat and maybe a scarf.

I got a scarf for the hockey fights cancer night! Been clutch for the weather we’ve had lately 🥶

There was the winter hat giveaway last month which was really nice and matches the ugly sweater.

Other than that if you want cool giveaway items you’d want to go to an icehogs game instead. Lukas Reichel bobblehead Feb. 24th for example 😀

I’m lucky enough to have access to both Hawks and Bulls tickets, and let me tell you the difference is night and day.

The Bulls, in addition to other random giveaways, have a Chicago Artist hat series that they market, with hats designed by different artists around the city, giving some interesting looks to an iconic logo. They also have a player-designed jersey series, with players getting input on their nights. I managed to get the Pat Williams jersey and will be getting the Caruso soon. And these are available to EVERYONE, assuming you’re one of the first 10k in.

And it isn’t like people won’t specifically buy tickets for the giveaway nights. Look at the White Sox. They suck ass. They still pack their giveaway days because anyone can get them. Get your shit together, Blackhawks.
