3rd line – Leivo Gaudette Virtanen
Sutter, Baertschi, Virtanen. Sven deserves to be first or second line LW as he is the best one on the team. But he will start on the third line and will make that line effective. Pearson is more of goal scorer than play maker so he will have to be with Horvat to be effective. Ferland is best suited for the first line to give that line some grit in the corners and puck retrieval power for that line. I think the center and right wing positions are pretty much set. Might be some surprises for the fourth line. Just my gut feeling.
I like Baertschi Gaudette Virtanen but Sutter will most likely switch with Gaudette
Clay, you are way ahead of yourself. The Canucks don’t even have the cap space to sign Boeser! Jimbo’s contract extension should have been dependent on cleaning up this mess! Why even mention Goldy given the red ink?

I agree with the Baertschi Sutter and Virtanen line. Also, I think Josh Leivo could move up and down between the third and fourth line, he's a pretty good player. And in my opinion, Goldobin should get a few shots at the third line too. And we shouldn't forget about Eriksson, he could be pretty useful.
I’m all about having a balance line and being top 6 or top 9 isn’t about the order of line combinations either.
So your 3rd line or my secondary scoring line would be baertchi/goldobin Miller and virtanen.
When they traded for Miller, I didn’t see him playing with Horvat at all on 5 vs 5. Canucks were getting killed on 5 vs 5 and they lack secondary offence last year So they need to get better on their secondary scoring line(3rd line.)
Peterson Line will play mostly with the their top checking line.
Horvat Line will play mostly with their top scoring line.
So if they want improvement they can’t put the same combination of Sutter and Beagle and list of cast off players. They have to improve the Sutter line and beagle line and in order to that you take off Sutter and put on Miller. Better playmakers, Better IQ. I see Beartchi beside him at the start of the year but I see Goldobin stealing his spot.
By the way I see Miller a better center than a winger while I see Sutter bettter winger than a center.
I’ll put Sutter with Horvat and Pearson. Good

The only time I see Sutter back at Center if the team struggle especially Pearson struggle, they move Miller LW beside Horvat
