  1. Hey everyone! If you saw this one already from earlier today, amazing! Unfortunately there was an unfixable issue with the thumbnail so we had to take it down & re-upload. Thanks for supporting & enjoy the breakdown on Sid “The Middle Aged” Man

  2. As Marchand put it best to describe Crosby: "He plays a winning game". Crosby still the goat of our era. Nobody plays a better game than him.

  3. People forget that Crosby was scoring as many goals as Ovechkin before his 1st concussion ended that. In his 5th year, Crosby had a 50 goal season. Entering his 6th year, he was on pace for 65 goals midway through the season until the concussion derailed his career. In other words, Crosby was going to be a perennial 50+ goals scorer every season like Ovi but he'd also have the 120+ points to go along with it (while Ovi only scored goals but didn't have the points). The amazing thing is that Crosby had to change his game style to protect his career and still found a way to be amazing despite not being his prime self. He adapted his game and was able to still win 2 more cups after the series of concussions that nearly ended his career. So the fact he's showing us that at age 36 he's capable of scoring 50 on a pretty mediocre team, confirms how great he's always been. It's not like he's getting "better", he was always a 50-60 goal scorer in this league with 120+ points per season but since his concussions changed that, we are only starting to see what we missed out on during his prime years.

  4. I'm savoring every game I watch because I know sadly his time is coming to an end. Been so lucky to watch him basically my whole life

  5. I always remind myself how great it’s been watching him for a decade and a half and to appreciate his still great play.

  6. He is quite a player. Imagine where his numbers would be of he never had the concussion issues. Generational talent for sure.

  7. Using a clip of Nylander in the last 2 minutes of play avoiding cernak and risking injury so that he can continue the series is a joke of an example lol regarding F1 intensity

  8. He really was never the same after those concussions. He was noticeably worse. And still managed to win a couple of cups. Unreal talent, that guy.

  9. i saw him warming up and stretching before the game in the catacombs, and the guy is just built differently. an absolute powerhouse who was flexible like a gymnast. wide as a cabinet and explosive like a pitbull. he was never just talented but is a workhorse, and that's why he never gets tired. one of my fav players since day one of his career.

  10. Crosby is getting wiser. Not more athletic. It’s a team sport. Crosby gets set up for great plays. Crosby had the most concussions as a current player. He’s not getting more athletic

  11. Amazing to see. I remember when people were saying he should retire back in 2011 with concussion issues

    Still rocking!

  12. I’m too young to have watched Mario but when can we say sid is the best penguins of all time? Can we ever say that?

  13. Crosby still plays this good because he adapts to the changing game and his hockey IQ will ALWAYS give him an edge you simply cannot overlook.

  14. The most impressed with Crosby I have ever been was due to a play he made the other day, passing the puck for an assist on a waived goal against the Sabres. I'm a Sabres fan, but it was easily the most exciting part of that game to watch.

  15. Showing Ovechkin as an older player that has fallen off compared to Crosby is crazy. Dude is 2 years older than Crosby and has played nearly 2 full seasons more games in the NHL despite entering the league at the same time. The man had a 50 goal season when he was the same age Sid is now. Crosby has a lot less mileage on him than most players his age because his fragility has caused him to miss so many games due to injury.

  16. Genetics. All there is to it. You or I couldn't perform his workouts and neither can the vast majority of NHL'ers because they'd simply tire or wear out and possibly injure themselves vs. preventing injuries by becoming leaner and stronger.

  17. He's not on his best goal scoring pace ever, it's a top 5 goal scoring season at age 36 for him which is insane. Was on pace for 64 goals at one point before getting concussed (again). Crosby is one of the biggest what if's in history too, people just don't recognize it because he's still a top 5 player of all time.

  18. As a Penguins fan I am always amused by the “next Sidney Crosby” talk. Every young star that comes along is the next Sid. We will see how they play at 36 and beyond. We Penguins fans are still marveling at the original.

  19. Sid pretty much built the modern game. He entered the league and changed the game, everyone had to change and adapt to keep up with him. It makes sense that he has been able to adapt his own game now. We are currently watching the best all-around player to ever play hockey, I really believe that

  20. I was on the other side of the Ovi/Crosby argument for so long. Now as time goes by I just realize how lucky I was to see 2 completely different forces evolve in the NHL. I think they truly saved the league at some point.

  21. Sidney Crosby is a name that will forever be remembered, etched in time by consistent play in the NHl

  22. Speed is over rated in my opinion. Speed is only effective if you can also execute moves and shots at speed. Plenty of guys are fast but don't have the hands or the brain to make plays at tempo. That's what separates the best from the average players. Also, switching speeds is just as important. Confusing guys with changes of speed doesn't require you to be the fastest guy on the ice.

But brain power can balance speed. Look at Elias Petterson. Not really a fast player but can dominate play because he out thinks everyone on the ice.

I don't know the actual numbers but it seems to me a lot more of the top players today are playing longer than ever before. Better training and understanding of how the body works means they can get to their forties and stay with the younger guys. Plus there also has been an attitude change as well in terms of simply not accepting that you need to stop at a certain age because that's "just what people do". With the game being cleaner than ever before I think you'll see more guys playing deep into their thirties and many even into their forties than ever before.

  23. It's great having a solid veteran player on your team! Joe Pavelski for the Stars fits that role well.

  24. I love this man. Sidney Crosby is just amazing. I love you Sidney Crosby, and that's coming from a Red Wings fan.

  25. “Sid is a Ferrari. His vestibular system is better than anyone else’s. That’s why he is the most elite hockey player in the world. That system is where Sid excels at. That system is why Sid is who he is.”
