Great job ladies! Spurgeon's career has run its course. The dude is 5'9" 165# and in his 30s, a body check takes him out for weeks at a time. He's done a great job for the Wild. But it's over.
I don't see East Coast Billy swallowing his ego and trading any of the players he signed to extensions. I just don't see it. Foligno and Hartman both have NMC's from this year forward.
A few players would bring a haul. But that would be your core players. Who could go is limited to the current 4th line.
It's worse. And Billy is off his rocker if he thinks this club is going to get into the playoffs, much less make a run. After embarrassing Jesper the way he did, GMBG is on borrowed time.
Spurgeon moves to a modified NTC starting July 1st. He goes on the trading block DAY ONE. True fans have had enough of mighty mouse. One of the worst captaincies in NHL history, if you ask me. He is an absolute GHOST in the post-season, and tends to disappear in the face of any adversity. His numbers are dropping, his health is declining. He is about $4M overpaid too.
I mean, what else needs to be said?
I have given you my opinion on Bill Guerin and his handling of this team from the overpriced contract to Spurgeon, to his trade deadline follies, to his holding onto his head coach for too long, to signing aged veterans, to not developing young players. Certainly, the GM is handcuffed by the buyouts, but he has been his own worst enemy in developing this team with young productive talent.
Hopefully, the Wild will get some European player relief from Russia and Scandinavia next season, but the players may not be ready, so that is a gamble as well.
I’m going to wait until the 26 27 season before assessing BG and his management team’s performance. My expectations? I serious run at a SC. IMO they already know what pieces are missing and how to develop them. That’s what I’m watching to see.
They have no business making the playoffs for another one and done for the 4th time in a row. 3 game road trip should tell us alot they haven't beat a good team since beating Boston twice all year long.
Sorry, Spurgeon and Freddy Evason need to go…FOR THE GREATER GOOD!
HOW DARE YOU INSULT DUMPSTER FIRES THAT WAY!!!
Watching this after the pure joy of last night's game (5-0 over the Islanders, Fleury's 552nd win) is a needed reality check.
CBS Sports calculates the Wild's chances of making the post-season is 2.6%. Last year, Gus was able to carry the team at times, but he hasn't been able to do that this year.
Not a Caps fan per se but seeing them win the Cup was awesome. Swimming in fountains. Ovi not letting it out of his sight for days. Feels like what the Wild winning would feel like.
My thoughts on today's show
To start, why did it take 41 games
For Hynes to bench Merrill kosky
When Daemon Hunt played his way on the team weeks ago, Hunt is a diamond in the ruff, who's going to be very shiny
With Hunt mermis playing third line
And with Brodin back, the Wild have a very good d line again, i can see the Wild making some noise now,
And all the negativity on spergon
Are you kidding me, spergon is an excellent d man yes time is catching up with him, but when healthy He's a top 20 d man, last year he was rated number two behind Makar
Putting Rossi back on the on first line
Is where he should be,
With Rossi on top your going to see kaprizov take off speed kills
As always good show
