What’s that saying? Every team wins 30 and loses 30 it’s just a matter of getting there as fast as you can

  2. Sloppy game but we got the win. Great game from Höglander, Joshua, Blueger and Garland. Still wish Joshua got that open net the first time but the gwg from him was amazing.

They need to deal with Kuzmenko soon. We can’t have players being double shifted an entire period because the coach benched him. He absolutely deserved the benching tonight but it’s not fair to other players having to pick up for it. Mikheyev is also questionable but focus needs to be on what they plan to do with Kuzmenko.

  3. xtothewhy

Anyone have a link to the Kuzmenko giveaway in the second?

  4. Ecstatic-Buy-2907

Bad day to bet Canucks -1.5 I guess, with the way the puck was bouncing towards the empty net

Yikes for Kuzy. He was awful tonight. We don’t really have a 2nd line right now. The good news is the thirst line and the hoglander line (which doesn’t get enough credit btw) are doing enough to spread the production of goals. But if anything, I imagine the move is to trade Kuzmenko and a pick for a 2nd line winger. I’d imagine at some point, they’ll have to split the lotto line as well. The lotto line was able to run because of the presence of Horvat, who we don’t have a center of that calibre anymore

A little annoyed because I just remembered Brock would’ve hit 30 already if he hadn’t had 3 goals taken away due to GI. Some were more valid than others, the one tonight was complete bullshit.

Character win in a chippy game against a fast and relentless Coyotes team that could have easily taken advantage of a group returning to the pressures of home ice after a big road trip. Kuzmenko benched for the 3rd, feels like a last strike from a coach who has stated many times that repeating mistakes will not be tolerated. It will be interesting to see what the next move is. Will RTs tough but fair approach get through to the young Russian forward before the first round, or will we see the Canucks add at the deadline with Kuzmenko and a prospect as a trade chip?

Man, arizona loves stirring shit up, that last few minutes was textbook how to kill time, really liked that hoglander made some good moves to kill time.

As for kuzmenko, he legitimately deserved a third period benching, he had a brutal second period. All this talk about tocchet’s system being the reason why kuz is playing bad, nah. i think he just needs to play smarter and harder.

  8. bonergarage123

How is the Joshua-Bluegar-Garland line so good? They always seem to create chances, for third lines players. Is it bc their matchups are easier? Good chemistry? They need a case study on them

Man, FB is such a dumpster fire of shitty, homophobic takes. Reddit ain’t perfect but this sun is so much better than that trash burn. Love you guys.

I can’t wait to see the BC Overpass Impact Replays for this game

  11. yeliab_tx_ca

We have more wins at the 45 game mark this year than we did in 2011. Bonkers

  12. FluidG11

Canucks can play 1 game under .500 the rest of the way and still reach 100 points.

  13. gybegybe

It’s crazy how the Canucks keep coming out on top despite lacking 2nd line offence… a lot of these wins are due to the 3rd line playing good enough hockey for 2 lines lol.

  14. ForceEconomy9988

Man, the Oilers are on a heater damn…LA fallen off so hard. Its crazy they could conceivably miss the playoffs at this point…Also other than the penalties Myers played a great game, cant believe Im out here praising Myers but here we are

Buddy, it’s hockey, Every other game is straight man pride game.

  16. unbannedcoug

We need to figure out this second line if we want to make it deep on the playoffs

  17. A year ago kuzys giveaway would’ve just been another play we made so in a way it’s nice we actually care about it this year

  18. TimsAFK

Might honestly be one of the last games we see Kuzmenko in a Canucks jersey, I just don’t see him turning it around from here. Would love to be wrong though.

  19. iburneddinner

I’m still cranky, but the Demko/DeSmith skating away like they’re BFFs and Demko getting a win for his 200th helps.

  20. MikaelDerp

How long till we trade for Crosby? Kuzmenko, a 2024 first, and a firm handshake from Rutherford should get it done, right?

  21. barelyincollege

Considering the quality of their roster, that was a pretty impressive game by Arizona tonight. No wonder their coach Andre Tourigny is getting good reviews.

  22. CrayonOlympics

What the absolute fuck happened to Kuzmenko man? Like everybody knew that last year was probably a one off production wise but he was never *this* bad with and without the puck. I’m not saying he was a Selke finalist or anything last season but even with Bruce’s loosey goosey anything goes style he wasn’t blind spin passing the puck directly to the other team every other shift.

Yes he’s sophmore slumping and yes he has literally zero confidence but god damn he turned the puck directly over three times in one shift. No coach on earth is going to let you get away with that. Was part of his workout routine in Bali repeatedly smashing his head until he damaged the part of his brain that remembered how to play hockey?

Rant aside, another solid win for the boys. Like that even after the scoring has regressed they are still winning by playing solid, fundamental hockey. It’s been a real treat to watch.

  23. shadownet97

That felt like the Buffalo game last Saturday. Very chippy and our second period wasn’t the greatest but ended well.

Glad we’re able to shut down the opposition in the third.

  24. TheGreatNathan

Anyone have the clip of the shift that got Kuzmenko benched?

  25. 83tinman

Do you trade someone at their lower possible value? He should swop with Nils. Bury him until maybe he sneaks a few goals and catches somomes eye.

What to do with Mik then.

  26. Plane-Buyer

10 months ago ALOT of Canucks fans were crying to trade Boeser and Miller. (Not me)

Glad management doesn’t always listen to the fans lol.

Might be a hot take but I want us to keep Kuzy and let him grow as a Canuck.

  27. Lorenzo_

Seems like players like Miller respond well to being benched but Kuzmenko definitely doesn’t, get the impression that if Tocchet gave him more rope and let him make mistakes that he would get his confidence back and the problem would sort itself out.

Can’t really criticize a coach that has us at the top of the league though, it’s unfortunate Kuzy might end up being a casualty of the coaching style change but we can’t get too attached if we’re really gunning for a cup

  28. metrichustle

Arizona is going to be pretty good in a few years. Cooley is going to be a star. Canucks need to strike while their star players are in their prime.

  29. Woooooody

If it couldn’t be a shutout I’m glad it was Dermott on Pride Night

  30. nickypoopoo69

You guys think Tocchet sent one of his biggest guys out there to put O’Brien in his place?

I feel like Zaforov was sent out like Glatt lmfao

  31. IamPriapus

Best part (other than the win, and Petey’s insanity of a shot) was Zadorov delivering a well-deserved ass whooping to O’Brien. Really shows that the team plays for each other.

  32. 83tinman

Zadorov gave O Brien the fight, got the better of him, then when he knew it was over caught his hair just to piss him off. O Brien spent five minutes in the box screaming with steam coming out his ears with Z smiling at him. O Brien did almost nothing after.

Also seemed to affect Crouse, who was dangerous before that, but after the fight seemed to just be going around trying to hit someone hard.

    Gotta love it.

  33. Infinite-Tomorrow-15

Hockey this year is wild the wild Wild West it’s amazing

  34. Okwestward21

That was my first Canuck’s game, and i had so much fun! i thought it would be more physical after the Zadorov and O’brien fight, but i think it remained close enough that both teams were dialed in on staying out of the penalty box
