  1. Uhh this brings back painful memories. This was after Halak found his inner God-Goalie abilities and Montreal beat Pittsburgh then Washington!! No gas left for a physical Philly team 🙁

  2. Showing his dominance as alpha male! 2 Stanley cups Richards played the game! Both ends of the ice!

  3. The poise with which he settles the puck before tapping it in just perfectly completes how great this shift was.

  4. Sabres fan who doesn't like the flyers. Still the best shift of hockey I've ever seen played.

  5. Richards was a true prototypical Flyer. Giroux, who is revered, for some strange reason, couldn’t do half the things to make the team better and couldn’t come close to Richards’ impact.

  6. One of my favorite captains… he and Giroux both have a legendary shift. And the man, myth, legend, and Hall of Famer Bobby Clarke. There were other good captains, but these 3 are some of the greatest of all time. But Richards was everything a captain should be… talented, gritty, heart and soul kind of guy.

  7. He would've been right there next to Crosby and Ovi had he not had that rough spot in his personal life. Truly a great player

  8. Would like give y’all a fun fact about Mike Richards, the town he grew up in “Kenora Ontario” is also the town I’ve grown up in, three of his cousins work at the same high school which I attended and have had all three of them as teachers, some days you’d see Mike Richards walk into your class just to chat with his cousins which was a blessing to see, something I’ve witnessed that none of y’all would ever. Suck it
