A bad decision that cost us a chance to come back in the game. Probably 1 game suspension.

It was a really dumb move that he made out of frustration. No excuse for that. He’d be a great option for captain if he could get his emotions under control.
I know it was a bad decision, but we have been asking these guys to ve more physical and passionate all season long. I’m not mad about this.

As far as « bad hits » go, this was pretty light and I think a hearing is overboard. The 5 minute major served its purpose.
Tbh I’m a little dissapointed at our fan base for all the finger waving at Yanni and I was hoping they would be more upset with all the bullshit McDavid got away with that game while player safety thinks this needs a hearing.
Too bad McCrybaby won’t have to face the consequences of his actions. Slashing and crosschecking all game, and the Oilies had to grab a Kraken player after judt about every shot on Skinner for some reason. The refs should be fired for letting the game get so out of hand.
When you play the game the way Yanni does I think there’s no doubt you are going to slip up at some point. 82 games a year playing dump and chase and finishing that check in the corner every single dump, every single game, every single year.
Tanev plays the same way and between the two of them it’s really remarkable how clean they manage to play the game while finishing every check every game.
Yanni is a vet and a Cup winner..I have no doubt he knows that he was in the wrong and will come back better. As an alternate captain he cost us a chance at winning that game and probably a suspension and I know that is going to eat him up but drive him at the same time.
It doesn’t get any easier,it seems. That was a bad, high end to the hit. Seattle is going to be in tough for C on Sunday.
Give Yanni a raise
