@Canucks de Vancouver

[Lalji] Je peux confirmer que les Canucks annonceront une prolongation pour Jim Rutherford. Il l’a bien mérité.

Good job JR. Next press conference better be about a Petey extension tho 👌

  2. Makes sense tbh he did a good job cleaning Jet Black’s mess

I know that he is usually in the background. Doesn’t do a whole lot of media. But I don’t think that his contribution to the teams current success can be understated.

I was listening to 32 thoughts a while ago, and they touched on the topic of team spending. There is no limit on what a team can spend on facilities, amenities, etc. When Zadorov came to the team, one of the first things he mentioned was how impressed he was by the organization. Jim has both served as a buffer between Alvin and Aquaman. But he has also put great effort towards making Vancouver a place that players want to play. Especially in a Canadian market, that’s so important

Very well deserved! Figured with him being in year two of three that this might happen this season!

I’m glad Alvin has a little more time under/with him at the helm. He’s turned around the whole organization remarkably.

Well deserved. The entire management team deserves extensions based on how much they’ve improved the organization as a whole, way beyond just the roster.

In less than 3 years, Rutherford has turned this team from bottom pickings to legit playoff contender with predominantly the same core (minus Horvat, plus Hronek). But his best move was probably identifying the need for the right coach.

Reminds me a lot of how Gillis took Nonis/Burke’s team to the next level. Let’s hope we make it all the way this time around.

Great news. Was worried JR would be retiring.

Even in a best case scenario, the Rutherford hiring has worked out better than I expected (and I thought he was a good hire).

I hate Aqua as much as anyone, but while some are incapable of giving credit where credit is due, many thought that the Rutherford was washed up and the game had passed him by…

…Aqua made it happen, and I’m just grateful he finally got something right.

It’s a deserved extension. Just wished he handled the coaching change better

I’m good with this. Honestly, wasn’t sure if he wanted to stay longer given how he talked at the beginning, but I think with it not being the full GM role it’s been good.

Great! Given his age (74), I don’t imagine he has a long future ahead of him with the team. But who knows. Regardless, I’m very happy with how he’s done so far, and I’m very happy he’s sticking around!

Jim got a lot of heat at first, but he has done a masterful job of insulating the Aquilinis from the fanbase.

I heard the Canucks will be announcing me as head of eating & sleeping operations. I earned it guys.

    Say it with me, fam…

    JIMMY. DESERVES. IT!

    Now, let’s talk about when we’ll extend Petey’s contract…

If Pettersson signs in the near future I’ll become suspicious he needed to see this happen because it was a shitshow before Rutherford.

Benning was Aquamans YES-man let’s hope Jim has turned Aqua to his Yesman

Rutherford 3 years, Alvinn 3 years, coach has multiple years. Shows a sign of competitive stability. Petey then signs for 3 years.

  19. NotoriousBITree

Rutherford and Allvin are kind of an inspiration. Through smart choices you can work your way out of a shitty situation that seems pretty hopeless.

Guy is going to be here til his 90’s

It reminds me of the kind of class Mr. Quinn brought when he came here.
