Things I want please, and expect we actually get from Roy’s stint as Avs coach.
A return of physical play – last night Martin pulled up instead of finishing a check, it made me angrier than anything Ive seen during Lanes time coaching. That said I would prefer Romanov to continue to play smart defense as he’s been VERY good this year.
A return of any defensive structure.
Any hint of modern tactics for zone exits because chipping it around the boards doesn’t work anymore in modern hockey. To Lanes credit our neutral zone was noticably better this year.
Accountability for ALL players, not just Engvall. Roy is a taskmaster so I expect this will happen.
Absolutely chaotic coaching energy rather than sulking gum chewing.
