    New coach. Now.

That is all. And all that can be reasonably done right now.

  2. AduroPinquis

Special teams and goaltending were our downfall tonight.

  3. ElDobre97

We shot ourselves in the foot more than anything. Canucks didn’t impress me overall. An exciting game until the questionable sequence of penalties. Tons of overreactions but I wouldn’t be clamoring for any firings. It’s a long season with many ups and downs. The sun will rise tomorrow.

  4. Strange_Cap1049

Sadly Keefe won’t get fired now because cause we actually came back

  5. BravoBet

    6 goals on 21 shots

    Bad penalties

    This team needs work.

  6. PM_STOCKS_TO_BUY

powerplay and man advantage cost us the game. at least it was a fun game

  7. I’d like to see what a fresh set of eyes would do with this team

  8. djerok55

Stupid F’ing game. We need Woll and a new coach so bad

  9. dres_sler

    Dogshit first period killed us.

Happy with the effort tho. Hopefully we can win tomorrow

  10. GooseRider960

How tf do you not get one goal on a fucking 6 on 5/4/3

  11. Pencil_of_Colour

Buddy just posted a sub .750 and some mans will be talking all about the defence.

  12. twizzyflyguy

Bull shit officiating tonight, we got cross checking calls but they didn’t ? Fuck off

  13. frmacleod

It’s a flawed roster. Tre has some heavy lifting to do before the deadline.

  14. Papa_Cheese

Damn it would be nice to have goaltending like that

  15. Volderon90

Gonna watch Bills tomorrow, put the kids to bed and then probably start Last of Us 2 remastered for a third play through.  Not worth it to watch these guys right now

  16. reignleafs

I hope those that made fun of the fire shanny/keefe posts eat their words. This ain’t a real team. Exciting yes, but shit isn’t good enough guys. They didn’t start on time again. Get some standards ffs

  17. DrinkMoreBrews

They have an incompetent coach, They have no defense, They have no goaltending, They have next to no secondary scoring, They have no powerplay, They have no penalty kill, And they have no playoff spot

  18. allusions14

Pontus experiment on the first line needs to end, out of his depth.

  19. RollandInTheDeep

It really pains me to say this but the team just simply isn’t good enough this year, we’ll still make the playoffs I’m sure but this team isn’t a cup contender with the current d core and goaltending

  20. Baron_Wobblyhorse

That was *WAY* better than anyone could’ve anticipated for a TOR-VAN game under the circumstances. Frustrating as all hell that fucking Demko played his balls off at the end, but the last 40 minutes were entertaining as anything.

If it wasn’t so close to the end of the Week Where Everyone Loses Their Fucking Minds For No Really Good Reason it would be chalked up to « we played the best team in the NHL and lost an entertaining match. »

I really feel like they need to simplify their defensive zone coverage. They’re trying to play this hybrid coverage where they play man low in the defensive zone, then swap to zone up high. It leads to defensemen chasing forwards high up in the zone and puts a ton of pressure on the forwards to cover. It also leads to a ton of switches and moving parts.

The leafs just have way too many forwards who are weak defensively to play this style system. I’m not sure it would even work with a strong defensive group. St Louis fans constantly complained about Mike Van Ryns systems and were happy when he was fired. Taking defensive responsibility away from Dean Chynoweth after the leafs were top 8 in the league in goals against last year made really no sense

Would love to see them go back to a simple zone (which they played last year – played a “swarm” defense where they protected the slot and swarmed the corners to force turnovers) or a man to man system. Way too many prolonged offensive zone times due to leafs playing soft and constantly switching / losing their man.

34 year old Martin Jones can’t play every game since Christmas

  23. fluffedahiphopbunny

I know a good chunk of us want Keefe gone (myself included) but man Trevling was a fucking mistake.
