1. Well, Kane is or has been nursing something big, he would have higher numbers, if he was on the 1st PP unit, he was taken of the PK.
He would certainly have far higher numbers, if he was on the 1st PP unit, and he would excel at it, but with Oilers having Hyman who is excelling even more…that's just, how it is.

  2. Love, that you didn't have Stauffer on this time.
I like the guy, but he is the craziest homer of all sports broadcasting.

  3. Always great stuff gentlemen, I never miss it, just not always on the tube, 3 different avenues but I always listen. Love the show

  4. Kyper! The difference in effort in front of Sammie is astounding, the team has not given up on the coach, they’ve given up on the goalie!

  5. Like Kyper said Flames are not retain half and paying him for the rest of his deal and Elvis is in the same boat. Plus both teams will not take a goalie back so its mostly a 3 team deal if they are moved. Elvis makes 5.4 and if they are trying to develop Tarasov they are not taking Sammie who isnt even better than Martin.

  6. As a life long leaf fan, the leafs suck. They have no idea how to play 60 min hockey. They won't win anything with that idiot Shanahan.

  7. You want the All-Star Game to mean something? East-v-West, Best on Best, Winner has home ice advantage in the Stanley Cup Final. That way, regular season home ice only clears you to the Conference Final.

  8. throw money at Paul Coffey to come home to coach this sad defensive team! He already righted the ship in Edmonton when everyone counted them dead & out!

  9. Just my opinion on the Zach Hyman situation… I understand you cannot predict the future, But what you can do is have some faith in the players you have in your organization… The Toronto Maple Leafs are known for giving up on their players who are not the core 5 players… Sometimes you have to take risks and sign a player like Hyman for what he was asking for and as we know now that risk would have paid off and to be completely honest you could have predicted the future a little bit, That’s called analyzing a players ceiling and in my opinion Hyman was a player who blossomed late and I’m not gonna pretend I knew he was gonna be a goal scorer to this extent but I had felt he had the potential to be a 30-35 goal scorer especially because he always goes to the dirty areas and has underrated skill…. if the leafs would have held on to half the players they gave up on just to “win now” they most likely would have had some playoff success and dare I say maybe a cup final…. I am not a leafs fan but letting Hyman Walk ESPECIALLY not getting anything for him was very poor asset management they could have even given him a 2 year deal and went on from there…. Worst case you trade him and actually get something and if they did they would have had a Zach Hyman on the last year of a 2 year deal coming off of a 36 goal 83 point season and could have moved him for a RD or resigned him but Torontos GM at the time always had poor asset management and gave up on players to fast….

  10. Sam talking over Kyper and JB has to be getting on their nerves. He doesn’t listen, just talks a mile a minute. Put him back behind the camera with his occasion take like it was before.

  11. 13:30 ~ totally agree with Sammy here. Bertuzzi is one of the better passers I’ve seen around.

He’s patient with the puck— doesn’t need to get rid of it quickly like some. Holds on, finds a bit of space to make the better play.
I had no idea he had that kind of ability with the passing game.

    52:15 ~ Nick: “…I’m 57 years old…”

    — Nick looks really good for that age 🤟🏼

  12. Absolutely hilarious that you guys think there is a real competition between McDavid and Matthews in the first place. Only in Toronto would anyone try to seriously debate who is the best active player when everyone else including the players are painfully aware that its McDavid.

  13. The only way to change the mentality is to change the coach. He has had a long time to figure out his lines and players and teach them to play defense and its always the same old story that means no change of strategy in coaching.

  14. I always got the feeling Matthews didn't like playing with Hyman, at one point there was people saying he wanted to play with Marleau and the next day Hyman was off his line and Marleau was on his line. There were a couple behind-the-scenes video of them goofing around, Hyman made a joke and the top stars just turned away and ignored it, always a weird feeling.

  15. It only took a few seconds for the first stupid comment to come out. If Mathews is the world's greatest shooter, why has he scored fewer goals in a season than McDavid (60 to 64?). Try to not be such homers guys. It's interesting how the Mathews is the greatest talk has changed, in the old days they said Mathews is a better player than McDavid, that has stopped for obvious reasons. Now they are qualifying it by focusing on the scoring, but facts say otherwise. Once Mathews gets more than 64 in a season lets talk again.

  16. Rob Brown is probably the most intelligent hockey analyst/podcaster that I have ever witnessed in my 20+ years of watching and following hockey. I can listen to him for 24/7 and never get bored
