Regarding Keefe. How can you say the loss was not his fault? I’m not an expert but I think just about every decent coach would have called a timeout for a rest after the late icing. Did the failure to do so result in the Oiler’s game winning call. Maybe. But the time out should have been called. What was he saving it for with only a few minutes to go.

As a lifelong Oilers fan I'm continually thrilled by this run. Great game but Leaf fans should understand that there's alot of room on the wagon. Your team isn't going to lift the cup til at least 2067, so come on and chear for Canada's team !

I'm an Oilers fan but follow the Leafs pretty closely (sometimes against my will lol). All I can say is that firing Keefe is a bandaid solution at best. The root of the issue is Shanahan, who you almost have to wonder if he's a getting a kick back from all of these bloated Core 4 contracts that have left the rest of the team in shambles.
If they lose a couple more on the road. Maple Leaf fans might start a, "Fire Sheldon", chant when they return home.

Leafs would literally be a .500 team if the NHL didn’t give loser points for overtime losses and create stupid 3 point games. Those 8 overtime losses when combined, gives them 21 losses along with 21 wins. A very average team.

The Leafs should've traded Marner B4 his NTC kicked in. The return of a star goalie and/or a solid Dman or two and the freed up cap space would've put the Leafs into a MUCH better position to make deep playoff runs. But instead they signed him to a huge contract all but guaranteeing the circus you guys have been witness to. 👍👍
Actually, I think the leafs played somewhat better defensively. The waived off goal though, Brodie again gets beaten by someone (he is a problem I have been saying it for a long while). 1st goal definitely on jones even though McCabe standing in front of him doing nothing is not good. 2nd goal, Brodie almost got to the goal scorer. He was late but at least he went to the right place. 3rd goal at least some oilers were checked in front of the net. Only problem is no one was near to the puck carrier. Based on other games, this is an improvement but defenders aside, forwards are not helping enough.

If Sheldon Keefe gets fired, I can see Guy Boucher being his replacement. He's already been a front-runner for the leafs' head coaching job, having already been their choice back in 2015 before Mike Babcock swooped in at the last minute.
Oilers fan here. Great overview on a good game. I think a new voice would go a long way. Oilers were getting loosey-goosey with Woodcroft, and that was also the case last year a lot of the time, even when they went on a tear down the stretch. Knoblauch has them playing a tighter game, and obviously he's giving a different message, along with defense coach Paul Coffey. Looks like you guys could use the same. Sincerely hope you beat the Flames, so good luck!

It's t the game of hockey. You to come to play the full 60 minutes. Having the lead doesn't guarantee a win. You can't have your players shadowing McDavid while he's on the ice. You need to focus on the puck and your teammates at all times. McDavid will draw you out of the play. If he isn't scoring he's setting up opportunities even when he is shadowed he always focused on the game.
Its NOT the coach and not the goalie … its the players that are leaving their opponents to have wide open shots with NOONE on them. Cant have that and expect the goalie to save every one. Gong all the way back to CBJ 6-5 OTL … its been 2 or 3 goals every game where they leave 1 guy wide open in front of the net.
