Oh nooo
Wtf eh. What a year.
I think regardless of what happens guilty or not I have a feeling they'll cut ties with them
As much as this really sucks for our beloved team, that comes a distant second to the gravity of the crime and the victim. The press conference happening yesterday was no coincidence. It was to avoid fielding live questions on this issue less than 24 hours before it dropped. I'm extremely disappointed and angry with our organization, and how this is being handled. I get they won't address much bc it's a legal issue – but SA has no place in our sport. I hope, when the time is appropriate, we get the right responses from our organization and that it's handled correctly. But as of right now, I'm extremely disappointed for many reasons and with many people. LGD
Honestly, I would say just punt the season at this point. We are 4 points back behind Carolina for the final wildcard spot (Detroit and Toronto in front of us), we play Carolina tomorrow too. Too many injuries right now and personally, I wouldn't trade out of desperation at this point either. Id see how we do the rest of the year, let some of the boys heal up to 100% and then look at goalies in the offseason unless we pick up one during the deadline and ride it out the rest of the year.
If Mike McLeod is found guilty of rape that is a HUGE loss. Well, there goes playoffs this season.
Good thing Hatakka looked good in his first game 🤷♀
I don't mind them making moves this season that make sense for seasons to come but to make moves for this year is not smart..it's not our year..if you weren't convinced with all the injuries this year, with what happened today should have you convinced
What are we gonna do? We're gonna keep winning until Jack comes back. Fuck the noise. LGD!
We're all saints this season for the amount of CRAP we've had to tolerate from this team this season but that's what it means to love a team so much
Absolutely gutted seeing this.
Innocent until proven guilty. This isn't a hard stance. That's reality.
I have a lot to say but I wont because I'm smart enough not to. FIRE FITZY!!!!!
Both Ondrej Palat & Colin Miller were back to practicing today.
I have no clue what to make of this news without more facts. The London Police announced that they will be holding a live press conference on February 5th to provide an update regarding the allegations, and it will be Live Streamed on Facebook.
Seamus Casey time?
if the rape related shit happened how are they gonna prove it after 6 years?🤣 boys and girl(s) just had fun🤭
It's just a lot all at once. I knew about the 2018 world junior team, but somehow missed who was involved so that was a big shock this morning.
So is he leaving the team if so how long?
This is so sad😢
I agree even before the injuries they need to trade for a defenseman. Hamilton seganthaler and Marino have all had mediocre seasons at best . Losing graves didn’t help us we traded Timos offense for defense literally . Now we need a trade for one . The Mcloud news is so disappointing.
Well, now I'm 100% convinced this is a cursed season. Either to injuries or the justice system, we can't seem to stop losing Devils, or should I say Devets, or at this point Demets.
I'm not going to pretend like our season is more important than bringing justice for the scandal, but man this may be the worst time for this to happen, especially as McLeod was heating up. I wasn't really paying attention to hockey at the time, so I don't want take a side without looking into it more, but hopefully people remember "innocent until proven guilty" despite the tarnish this'll inevitably bring regardless.
regarldless of how the situation plays out I think their NHL careers are OVER. You just recall Voynov case and some other NHL players like Mitchel Miller, Leipsic etc. NHL would not tolerate the slightest of this shit. There will be no way back into NHL for the players in question. They will be heading to the KHL if avoiding the Canadian jail
Things seem to only be getting worse as the season progresses. I overheard someone talking about this and once i opened IG, i saw that post. Terrible we are losing such amazing players to such unfortunate reasons. Hard times indeed.
I know there are bigger issues involved, — but man you cannot make this up. I pray for all involved in that mess. I shudder to think what else happens next to the Devils roster. I am optimistic about the Devils making the playoffs, but it will be a struggle and a testament to their grit and resolve if they do. Just when I was excited about Palat returning. Lindy deserves to remain coach. You cannot judge him with a disseminated roster.
This is absolutely devastating, seems like we can't get a break 😔
Okay I got a idea the rangers give you kandre miller and Blake wheeler for Jack Hughes sounds like a fair deal to me
We could’ve used another bottom six center as it was, but now I think we definitely need to look for one. Wouldn’t mind seeing Henrique back here, as well as another veteran D man and a goalie – but only with an eye toward longer term solutions. Great video as always!
We should just bring up all the Adirondack guys. They seem to be doing better than everyone
Alright, I know my comment will bascially not matter in the grand scheme of things because it will most likely sound like speculation and that does nothing for the final result of how this whole debacle ends. Regardless of that fact, I have to speak because at least people should understand the bigger picture here. First off, I firmly stand with believing the victim of such a case, however it does not hinder the victim from being criticized in terms of breaking down the story to make sure that the victim is not lying, hence the innocent until proven guilty approach that the law (should) follow(s). Secondly, not to put politics here just making a reference/comparision, but this is pretty much like the Cuomo, Trump, and Kavanugh cases, where the women take half a decade to 2 decades until they speak out against the accused. In this case, this apparently based on the facts given happened in 2018, roughly 5 to 6 years ago to date, so this was argueably a long time. Here is the problem I have with this is that I can argue that, if you are the victim, by all means take as much time as you need but you should not need more than one year to decide whether or not to speak out, because by then it is very suspicious and sounds like you were waiting for a specific moment in time for the accused to be doing something that you up and ruin it by speaking out then. In this case, these players were probably especially chosen because they have doing great in their careers (argument can be made that Cal Foote does not fit this critera, but he did perform well in the Columbus vs. NJ game, and not many AHL players immedialty pull off a point their first game in the big leagues.), but at the same time understandibly chosen because they were present then during the incident, and based on their reactions they know it too, but I would argue those reactions are due to the London police contacting them and telling them to surrender, which they did, just that the NHL tried to not have it affiliate with them, although possible they wanted to protect the players as well despite the fact we the audience and people would have put 2 and 2 together. Nevertheless, in this case, unless the victim's life was ruined and she has a child or something awful from that experience, I do not believe this crybaby story. Like I said, more than 1 year to decide about speaking out against your perpetrator is way too f**king long and makes your story less credible and makes it look like you are in it for the money. Also possibly some revenge scheme, because as we have all seen, if you even accuse someone of this crime it's almost immediate destruction of the career. In the end, I hope this story isn't true and all 5 of these players go back to their respective teams and careers, and I pray that regardless if the fact that they win they don't lose their careers. So yeah, that's my verdict.
