Typical Rangers. Can't draft and develop forwards so they trade their prospects and pending RFA's for aging veterans and hope they catch lightning in a bottle. No wonder only one cup in 99 years.
Love Larry! And he’s totally right when he said this team isn’t built to win 16 playoff games……absolutely not going to happen with this core
Mika is a black hole at 5 on 5, not just offensively, they live in their own zone when that line is on the ice and it starts with him
It's also not about " size and grit" it's about lack of speed and will
Forget all the BS about skaters and focus on the real problem. Igor is a disaster in net. H continually has sub .900 save percentage. 22 shots and 19 saves two games in a row!!! Shisterkin needs to get his game going because He is killing this team.

Both the coaches and players are to blame here. Just like gallant over the last 2 years I blame time management on the coaches when the sharks scored that first goal and you know you're susceptible to another goal quickly after that call timeout regroup. Stop saving them for the waning minutes of the third period when you rarely call them
Mika sucks, boomer Brooksi is a fool. Mika and Chris are terrible

Never gonna win a stanley cup with your 3 top guys being Kreider Panarin Zibanajed all soft finess players, this team lacks grit and physical toughness if they dont score on the power play they aint scoring! People also assumed this guy Shesterkin was the Next Henrik LOL guy is an average to above average goalie nothing special there. This team is fading faster then the winter sun
end of the day, we can switch the coach every year. Rangers best players need to be the best for them to win the cup. Look at every cup team
this team is not feared.
Why keep pulling kakko from the first line. You claim you want growth but you dont allow it. First line needs someone to help kreider and zibanejad. Emd of story. Bottom 6 we need stronger than brodzinski, and better than bonino. End of story.
I may be wrong but I feel like Igor and Mika have some sort of mental block going on or something. I know they're busy when they're home with their children. But I feel like since they both became dad's things change. could I be wrong?

Guys, I’ve been saying it…( and you talk about the definition of insanity)…
NYR = CONSISTENT INCONSISTENCY!
This core has been together for close to 6 years with 3 different coaches and they just continue to do the SAME thing EVERY year…no matter who the coach!!!
They buy in for a short time and then in fickle manner regress to adhering to a lazy, systemless, east-west game in which they have no structure, fall behind/chase the game within the first 5-10 minutes, don’t give the other teams the respect they should and fall asleep for most of the game refusing to put in full efforts and worse of all..
THEY ARE JUST FLAT OUT SOFT!🤬 There’s ZERO grit and the team completely REFUSES to play with any type of urgency or determination in any way, shape or form!! The other teams see this. We’ve been exposed as a non productive ( outside of the 2nd line) group that can’t score 5v5, just leans on our GTs because of the soft, lazy D and is totally reliant on the PP, which now isn’t even producing! Their transition game is just as bad, they can’t break out the puck worth a shit in which they constantly turnover said puck and literally give the opponent tons of odd man rushes, and no one ( outside of Cuylle, Kakko) truly wants to drive the net/set up any type of sustained forecheck, etc..etc..
Point is, imho, this is not the team that’s gonna bring it. Hell, a lot of our wins in the beginning of the season we’re ugly to begin with. And they continue to be!!
Even when they won vs Ducks, within the first min we were down 1-0 and they only chose the 3rd period to show up!
This team needs some SERIOUS shaking up and I don’t even think the deadline changes ( whatever they are) will be enough.
Of course I hope I’m wrong and would love for them to prove me that way but I just don’t see it right now. It’s gotten so bad that the past 4 or 5 games I haven’t even watched. I just waited for the scores and streams and I’m glad I didn’t cause they lost the majority and it’s just aggravation I don’t need.😂
And those games were supposed to be the EASIER part of the schedule!!
Example: we have the Sharks😩🤬..that’s exactly what I mean by not giving the opposition the respect/concern they should. They are constantly losing games to teams they should crush! And did you hear Fox after the game?! “They wanted it more than we did?!”🤬How much do you have to get your team up to play the worst team in the league?!?! A team you should steam-roll!! That right there spoke a million words! ALL of which speak to their mentality/determination/drive!!
I just hope they ALL wisen up because with this, it’s not the GM, although he has his issues too, (like getting rid of Buch and NEVER replacing him! There’s just been a revolving door of about 20 different players whom have all tried to play right wing and those few that have shown they can fill it have been let go!🤬 For fucks sake, one of the reasons Buch was let go was to help Kakko get up there and start learning to produce & none of the coaches did it!!😫)
They way this organization wastes its talent will forever be beyond me!!😫🤬
Still with THIS group, It’s not the coaches (although they need to be more disciplinary & stop babying the vet/stars), it’s not the system, it’s not the rooks like Cuylle, Othman, etc..
ITS THE CORE!!
That & what they have instilled into this team on the ice. And if they don’t change/fix this, they will continue to pass this mentality to the younger guys as they have to Chytil, Kakko, etc..
The GREATEST part that blows is that we ALL know that they COULD do it! They absolutely have the talent!!
But NOOO.. they’d rather sleepwalk through everything!! :::smfh!:::🤬
Sorry… but had to be said and I’m not saying another rebuild but a DEFINITIVE shaking up is needed! Some heads may have to roll! Like breaking up Zib & Kreids (the MOST inconsistent, play-when-you-feel-like it duo in the NHL! And they constantly feed off one another)/Fox & Lindgren!
Friendships do not = PRODUCTIVITY!
And I don’t want to hear “well they’re still in first place!” because in any other division they are in 3rd place and, or a wild card team at BEST!!😫😫
Let’s just pray they can create the necessary makeover to turn this ship around fast or we are DEFINITELY looking at ,yet another, early exit if we make it to the post at all!
Need this team to build on mental game, Igor can't focus after letting one in. Need Miller to get a scratch and tell him if he doesnt skate as hard in his D zone as he does in the O zone then he sits.
Listening to a guy who got beat up at the bus stop a lot…go figure.
