   Its pretty simple boys Florida plays a forchecking, turn you over style. Leafs play keep away fancy boy style. Its kinda hard for guys like Reaves nd bertuzz to be a difference maker when we sit back nd do the neutral zone 1-2-2. This year has been better but our forcheck is god damn brutal compared to the elite teams.

   Leafs have to convince a few more guys to go on LTIR, then they can trade for better players….. Reaves has to be willing to go on LTIR as well. Maybe they can make side deals with the players they want out

   Don't be fucking stupid just phase these guys out Marner/Mylander out build a the rest of the time in another direction. Just don't re new Marner .it's really that simple Toronto your not stuck:)

   The cap is going up about $4.2M next year, and AM/WN make about $6.2M more than this year, so that means the team will be even more top heavy than this year's roster.

   I think it's BS to say the Leafs have a lot of cap space next season without specifically saying that they have a lot of roster spots to fill. They Leaf will need to resign or replace Brodie, Bertuzzi, Domi, Giordano, Lagesson, Samsonov, M. Jones. Sure, they have $20M to spend, but they need to replace 2 scoring line forwards, a top pair d-man, 2 bottom pair d-men, and a goalie that you'd be comfortable starting NHL games.

   The should not make a move this season. They have way better opportunities if they wait until the summer. Obviously this is not their year to challenge for the Stanley Cup. They should make the playoffs but it will be a short run. They need to get rid of the Tavares contract and bring in two top defensemen. They need two power forwards. Bertuzzi has to go.

   The Panthers struggled last year because they were learning to play a new offensive and defensive system (playoff type style) under a new coach. The Leafs can't replicate that because they are not teaching the same

   Nobody wants to make deals with or help the Leafs. They all hate them because of the money and fan base they have. Calgary would never make a deal with their former GM to help him out especially when the Leafs are in town and 50% of the building is cheering for the Leafs. It's that simple. Leafs tried to get Zadorov….no dice, Flames ask was too high for the Leafs but he went to Vancouver for a song.

    Nylander JT and Marner got to be better. They have to grow a pair and win the battles, I think Marner was a big waste of money like the Sedin sisters were.

    FLA was injury riddled for the first 70 games and never had their whole team together. Once healthy, they went on a run. The Leafs don't have injuries to their core players right now.

    it starts with matthews. he has to lead the way. if he doesnt start playing in your face hockey its gonna be same old shit. doesnt matter if he scores 100 goals this year. matthews is the "leader" even though he shouldnt be.

    "it has nothing to do without management. it's all in the room" is probably the stupidest thing i've ever heard from a hockey analyst and just shows that the media are running interference for MLSE who are raking in the cash at our expense.

    Same on ice Leadership, such as it is, same core, it will be the same result as the last several years. Are they a playoff team? probably, although the division on a whole is better so it will be a tight race. Will they make any noise?…nope, keep running back the same core then your running back the same result.I cant even get pumped for the playoffs any longer because the result is so predictable.

    Pretty much the same rhetoric we always get from them. We want to make a trade for our needs, which happen to be 24 other team needs, but don't want to give up prospects and have little draft capital. So again, Leafs will look to trade a bag of pucks and a stick for Makar or Tom Wilson. Same rhetoric for 30 years with new name.
