We have 9 players with 10+ goals. If the Canucks are adding, Willander and Lekkermaki are off the table. We could use a 2nd-3rd pairing RD and a decent playmaking 2nd line winger that fit the tocchet mould. Our first rounder this year could be in play, but we have 330k in cap space. Contracts(Kuzmenko) would have to go out for anything of value to come back. I would prefer they just stand pat and see how things go playoff time, especially if the negotiations include either of those players. We have a good team with a decent pipeline. If Petey wants to play center, he needs to be way better in the faceoff department. 48% doesn't cut it.
Don’t forget Abbotsford has some good players. Move some up early and see what happens.
Brock Boeser was a #23 pick. Dont trade #1 picks, ever. They also dont have a 2nd.
Pick minor deadline guys, 5th rd pick minor.
I could give a rat’s ass what colour the helmut is….it’s what is under the helmet that counts.
I laughed at Don Taylor when he said there’s a bad Karma to change uni’s when you are playing well. But clearly he isn’t totally wrong when you look at all these unsuccessful uniform changes.
We will need cheap younger guys very very soon. That OEL buyout pain is coming at us fast. Don’t get rid of the future.
What they need is guys to fill in when they get injuries…WHEN not if. The play off runs are hard on the body Canucks ran out of healthy bodies in 2011. That will be much the same this year. Don’t forget we also still have 35 games to go in the regular season which is 35 chances that players go down. Hang on the future go with the team that brought us here . Fill in the injury gaps with usable deadline pick ups.
It’s not what is on the head, it’s what is in the head.
The reason why chrome helmets look bad is because they simply don't match. If your jersey doesn't have chrome on it, then regardless of colour, the jersey won't match the reflectiveness of the chrome. The chrome will always look like a different shade, a one off coloured object that doesn't match the rest of the uniform. The same applies with Vegas and LA's chrome helmets.
Hate the helmets as it looks like you are watching a game of Tron. The Vegas and LA helmets because are hidious. I also hate the expression "all in". To me that means trade your future/lowr cost players for an over hyped veteran. Trade line deals rarely work and I never hear the so called experts talking about that.
Canucks do not have a second round pick this year so they need that 1st rounder. Again guys start talking about how often this works because it doesn't. JR has said it consistently that we need to keep our young players and 1st rounders because this teams needs low cost players in their line up moving forward, especially with the OEL cap penalty seemingly lasting forever.
