There has been some hits by us that are justifiably considered dirty, I as a fan can’t and won’t deny that but the pure hypocrisy is just wild because I know for a fact if Huberdeau landed that boarding hit as a Panther in 2024, that sub wouldnt quit crying about how he needs to be suspended.

His name is not Nick Cousins, that’s why. Also the Gallagher elbow was one of the worst things I’ve seen this season but no one was calling for his head either

EDIT – By this I mean no one was asking for someone to assault him like everyone celebrated when Cousins got jumped. At least everyone can agree that is suspension worthy. I feel like the knee by Cousins that got him concussed was a lot less clear cut

I would think that because he’s a former panther, there would be more hate for it. However, huberdeau was traded because he doesn’t have any aggressive edge at all. He played very soft and safe hockey and wouldn’t grind in the corners or aggravate opponents. In a scrum, he was often standing on the side or was the one getting face washed. I think that’s why people don’t think there was malice in the hit, because in 12 years, this has never been a part of his game, I only saw a quick video of the hit, I think it happened so fast that yeah roslovic exposed himself for some reason and it was very late in the hit. It was too late for huberdeau to pull back or change his direction without risking a different injury. I agree with the misconduct, though, because the refs need to control the ice, and that hit looked terrible. I think if he gets a fine, ok, that makes sense.

Hey man, everyone in r/hockey is a huge pussy and always will be, don’t get too caught up in it.

They dislike us because we are good. Nobody is threatened by the Flames.

There was a play against the Coyotes, I think (might’ve been the Preds), where a Panthers player lost his footing and dropped to his knees right before getting hit. Nobody even noticed. Literally the same shit happened with the Cousins hit, dude was standing an instant before the hit and the timing just sucked. Personally, I feel that players get too much leeway when they don’t let up on hits, but the inconsistency is annoying.
