  1. And 2013 isn't on Reimer. It's on the skaters refusing to cross the red line for 10 minutes and letting Boston have the puck all the time. Only player who took the puck at Boston was Komarov.

  2. Hey hockey guy you forget the Bruins was in my eyes the best team in the east from December on…tbl were the best team but Bruins rough start stop them from being 1st and the leafs took em to the brink …and Austin Matthews was injured he tried to hide it but it was obvious and the leafs lost Matthews for 20 games and in those 20 games I think they lost 12 maybe 13…in which 8 of them by 1 goal now if Matthews was there I'm sure he would have had scored a goal or 2 in at least half of them so maybe theu would have finished first in eastern conference or 2nd but still against Boston but home ice advantage would probably been the edge they needed so they are not as bad as you like to admit leafs 2019 will be 52 years and over lets go boys

  3. Been waitin on the NHL to do the leafs 31 in 31 but you beat them to it. Fantastic.

  4. It would help if the Leafs changed their name to the Toronto Stanley Cups!

  5. James Tanner at Editor in Leaf wrote an interesting article about Connor Carrick the other day. If you look at the deeper stats, Carrick is the guy you want out there with whoever. He improves the play of anyone he plays with. Sparks has to clear waivers if the Leafs send him down after the start of the season, which maybe complicates the log jam at #2. Sparks would be picked up in a heart beat. So would McElhinny. I'd like to see a backup that they feel they can trust in more games, to keep Freddy a little fresher at the end of the season. Obviously, it's not Mr. 934 save percentage McElhinny, for some Babcockian reason. Too many back ups– happy problem.

I don't see the Leafs winning the cup this season– I think a team has to go deep first and lose before they understand what it takes. But it's coming. And sooner rather than later.

  6. I'm calling it. Leafs miss the playoffs, Taveres, Matthews and Andersen have career down years.

  7. Totally agree, Marner drives the Leafs. I'm so sick of him not being on the top line. Mitch and Matty are magic together. I can't wait to see Mitch this year with some upgraded linemates. I'm just wondering who the lucky third guy will be and if it's Hyman then that is a very good thing. Heck I can see Hyman putting up 80 points with Marner and Tavares. Go Leafs Go.

  8. I love it! watching all you jealous bitches whine and cry….. Get ready for even more Pain. GO Leafs GO!!!!!!

  9. This is what I see leading midway into the season for the Leafs line-up:

    Marleau-Matthews-Nylander
    Johnsson-Tavares-Marner
    Hyman-Kadri-Kapanen
    Grundstrom-Gauthier-Brown
    Extra: Leivo
    ————————————————
    Rielly-Hainsey
    Dermott-Holl
    Zaitsev-Gardiner
    ———————————————–
    Andersen
    McElhinney

I think Hyman will be juggled around, just for the fact that the top line will likely start off with Marleau being a better fit with Matthews than Hyman. Babcock will see that Hyman will struggle greatly on with Tavares, because Hyman basically only knows to play with Matthews and won't quite know how JT plays and Marner will be the main disher of the puck to JT. Because of Johnsson's speed and scoring touch, will work will with Marner's speed and creativity and will work wonders with him and JT. I also think Grundstrom has a better chance at making the roster over Leivo…Leivo has always been "he has the talent, the Leafs need to keep him", but will never really be that good enough to be a regular. Holl and Dermott had the best chemistry when Holl played those 2 games last season…partly because of their time together in the Marlies and they feed off of each others energy.

  10. Gardner had one bad game. The problem is Andersen. The leafs can't win a cup with a bum like him in net. Can't believe so many people think he's great. McElhinney had better numbers playing the second of back-to-back games with a tired team in front of him. Andersen loses focus, makes dumb plays (particularly his no look passes while facing the boards behind the net) and can't stop any puck 2' or higher off the ice. He sucks and as long as he's the starter, they have no chance at a cup.

  11. why wouldn't matthews play hard even if tavares is there matthews and marner need to load up their bank for RFA 2019 they need as much points they can get. Plus no franchise want a player that doesnt play their hardest every night.

  12. I'm only 4 minutes in (and I'll watch the rest) but (barring major injuries) there's zero chance of Matthews not continuing his upward trajectory. He has all the tools, and now he'll have another first line center sharing the pressure.
    Okay…let's continue…

  13. the Toronto ARENAS Jersey dont read "ARE'T'NAS(and of course aretnas isn't proper spelling) cause it's actually read as…the Leafs "Are NasT", as in "That was a nasty ankle breaker" or "what a Nasty shot top cheese", only haters think of it like the Retina of the eyeball, JS lol
The Toronto Maple Leafs ARE NAS'T and won't be taking any pity this year, so watch out Boston/Tampa we're hot on your tail if not already above you mid jump haha
I can tell It's gonna be quite the season this year,Good Luck to all but Go Leafs Go….Toronto Maple Leafs are actually awesome now so I can pick on my uncle who's a Canadiens fan, he kinda picked at me for being a Leafs fan when i was younger in the 90''s-2000's and I figure its about time I repay the favour seeing how the got the best goalie in the league and they still cant win lmfao!! love the Video and agree with you when you say the leafs wil be floating at the top of their conference if they continue on their upward trajectory….. Peace my dude

  14. The game 7 loss not meltdown was due to the Reilly injury. Reilly is our #1 d. If he didn’t take the puck to the jaw we would have won. What the team wasn’t ready for was using an offensive d like gardiner to take Morgan’s place. Unfortunately Dermott wasn’t ready and Hainsey was having a terrible playoff. Dermott is the stud d that Keith was to Chicago. Reilly is also a #1. We have 2 #1 d’s in the mix so we will never have to use Jake in that situation again. Although Anderson should have had at least two of the soft goals which were deemed Jakes responsibility. So I look at it as a team loss. But remember! It’s also characteristic of Boston to let Toronto bring them to 7 games and nearly lose. 3 strikes your out and third times a charm. It will not happen again.

  15. As a 2nd year NHL/Leafs fan, this was very helpful for a novice. Thanks for the info!

  16. Looking back two years later, yikes about the salaries, still defense struggles, signing bonuses everywhere, still lose in the 1st round, but every year hope springs up.
