Fantastic game from Slaf, buzzing all over the offensive zone. He’s added a ton to the top powerplay unit; his positioning is excellent and he has a knack for generating high danger chances. Really dangerous combination when you add in Monahan on the bumper.

I’d like to see Ylonen given a chance in either Anderson or Armia’s slot, preferably Anderson’s – I think Armia has kept up surprisingly well with Monahan/Slaf.

  2. Grimekat

Matheson with just an absolutely unexplainable play.

  3. Garland68

Matheson and Anderson on the ice at the same time during OT is my worst nightmare

  4. RoosterVking

I’ve said this before and I’ll keep saying it despite the backlash.

Matheson is the new Hoffman this season. I cannot wait till he’s gone, hopefully at the deadline

  5. holdunpopularopinion

2 on 1 created by Malkin interfering in his own zone. Bullshit.

  6. Mr_Hawky

Why the he’ll did Monnahan skate towards the net like that? Such a bone head play its 3 on 3.

  7. ilikedthismovie

It physically hurt me seeing Anderson do nothing all game then bomb towards the goal in OT, contact his own teammate behind the net and give the Pens the 2-1 that they won on.

  8. Karl___Marx

    Mike « I don’t want to win » Matheson

  9. sean_psc

    Not a bad game.

Slafkovsky had a strong game, in particular; he should probably go back on the top line to improve it.

Nick suzuki is a conpletely different player when josh anderson is on his wing. Ive legitimately never seen a player have such a negative impact on whatever line hes on. Worst contract in the league, maybe only huberdeau beats it out.

Outworked down the stretch by a team on the 2nd half of a back to back huh? Expected from a St Louis coached team in guess

  11. Honkie117

Good game overall. That was a dumb pass to try and make by Matheson in OT. That’s a pass that 9/10 times won’t work and of course it ended up with a chance the other way and Pens score.

  12. Habs_Apostle

Fun game. We were competitive. Came up short. Slaf looking great out there.

Hopefully players have a nice break.

    Go Habs Go!!!!

  13. lucid-blackout

can someone explain this to me.. i don’t get why matheson doesn’t drop right there? that way l allen doesn’t have to respect the shot from the right side and can focus on the one with the puck. seems like he probably wouldn’t so he can recover faster but still

  14. Habslover

I’m done with Matheson. Probably the lowest IQ player I’ve ever seen. Every overtime he does the lowest possible percentage plays that always end up going the other way. That and he always tries to do everything in overtime by himself. Then there’s his refusal to pass to Slaf, always trying to deke and losing the puck at the blue line, Can’t stand him.

  15. Busch_Latte_55

Matheson sends a hope shot into the slot…..for a tip. Why? Why give up possession on a low percentage attempted tip? Fucking guy makes the weirdest decisions

  16. Pitiful_Stock_4329

If you can trade Matheson for a first I take it and run, great skater and less than zero hockey IQ

  17. MaulyMac14

I like Anderson, but I have never seen a player get so many undeserved opportunities again and again, all of which he proceeds to blow. It’s inexplicable.

  18. billsfan257

Matheson makes some boneheaded plays at times (ie that damn pass at the end) but anyone who thinks he needs to go and is of the same level as Hoffman doesn’t have eyes. While those types of plays should have been eliminated from his game at this point in his career, every defender on the team makes just as many mistakes and has half the offensive playmaking as matheson. His offensive talent is too great to just toss aside

  19. blackened1777

The most frustrating part about being a Habs fan is how insufferable so many of you get after a loss like this…shitting all over Matheson and whatever else you can find to criticize. Can’t we just admit the team played a great game overall and at least we got a point out of it? Geez.

    *BAD*

    – Tough decision by Matheson there in the overtime. Just throwing it to the net during three and three isn’t the best idea, it’s too bad because he makes so many good plays but the bad ones are tough.

    – Anderson on the top line is just ridiculous. It’s okay for now because Slaf still had a good game but Josh Anderson does absolutely nothing except a few bull rushes with the puck and that’s about where his capabilities end. I really want to tell you how I really feel ahah but I try and keep these more neutral/chill.

    – Suzuki had a bit of a dud game. He needs to be more consistent.

    – Just seemed like after Crosby made a great play to tie up the game with that pass they weren’t winning it.

    – Some turnovers.

    – Tanner Pearson what would you say you do here?

    *GOOD*

    – Allen played really solid. Habs were being a bit bombarded and held his ground.

    – Caufield point streak.

    – Slaf excellent. Goal was lucky but either way that would have went over to Caufield for a tap in. He is developing every single game before our eyes.

    – Monahan. I won’t be a broken record but you have to get a haul for him if you are moving him. He is such a smart player.

  21. dadoudelidou

We’re going onto ASB with almost .500, even tho we missed Dach all year.

We’ll start february still playing « meaningful » games.

I’m not delusional, playoffs are just a dream, but it’s nice to still be somewhat competitive at that point in the season.

    Allen was great tonight.

    Slaf is such a beauty.

  22. SJRealtor27

Une idée de génie de la part de Matheson en OT ! Fallait pas à trop s’attendre à lui et Anderson en 3v3 🥱
Dommage parce que Allen avait bien goalé 🥅

  23. Meats_Hurricane

Did anyone see what happened in Pittsburgh end just before the Overtime winner?

Looked like there was a collision which caused the off man rush?

  24. thenotsochosen1

Does somebody have a clip of slaf’s drive in ot?

  25. CrashTestMummies

Never thought I would be here today ready to trade Anderson and Gallagher for a plate of fried fish

  26. DivinePotatoe

I’m stunned this got to OT with how they played in the third. They woke up in OT but sadly one.bounce is all it takes then and it didn’t go their way.

Also Anderson continues to be hot garbage…

  27. SatireSqurriel

I would much rather prefer Roy in this lineup than RHP

  28. BarontheBlack

Absolutely zero offence aside from the regular suspects. Matheson with his regular OT shenanigans, and I thought Anderson was flying out there but accomplished absolutely 0 while doing so. Some frustrating polarizing players on this team.

  29. Studly_Wonderballs

The narrative right now is that teams will only be interested in Monahan as a third line Center, but I think there are definitely some playoff teams that could use him as a 2C. Plus, at his cap hit, every team can fit him under the cap.
