Nine Games Against Strong Teams: January 11-27.

IMO, we should have been calling it « The Sheldon Watch »

9 of 18 possible points earned since the two wins over SJ. That’s 50% of them. Started off awful, but finished very strong in these two games against the Jets.

I was on the #fireKeefe streetcar, but somehow he got them to flip a switch and get going this week. Especially last night – can’t ask for a much better game than that. Fantastic goaltending makes a huge difference too. I still think SK will have to get the axe if they don’t go deep in the playoffs.

Sunday morning headed into their break. We feel better, the squad must feel great. Nice to end the unofficial first half on a high note.

Good win heading into the break.

The debate was never COULD they play with the best teams in the league, but can they do it consistently. Hopefully we keep some momentum going after the break.

From a discussion perspective, if the leafs go acquire 1-2 D before the deadline, who comes out? At this point no way it’s Benoit.

This was a fun game. Lots of end-to end play. Terrible call on the goaltender interference, though.

Watching the next day dose of highlights – holy shit – even in slo-mo, that AM34 clapper during the 5 on 3 is screaming!

He got all of that and then some!!!

One thing I noticed this season is that the seemingly bad luck Leafy things that normally happen to the Leafs are happening to the opposition.

There’s been a bunch of examples this season, but from last night having low skill enforcer Reaves score in his return to the lineup usually happens against the Leafs. Another example is stay at home bruising defender Benoit getting the empty netter.

    The universe is self correcting.

I’ve been noticing this trend where every single game we play is against a hyped up team that’s treating a game against us like an entire playoff series. Half the opponent’s team is constantly pumping themselves up and ready for the game of their life with their family in the stands. Multiple Leafs fans on every opposing team waiting for this yearly moment to play in front of the team they grew up watching. Point is half their team is always amped to play us, we never really get a low key night. When was the last time we caught a team off guard cuz they overlooked us on the schedule?
