So we have an afternoon matinee game in Edmonton and SIXTEEN STRAIGHT WINS. Leon got his 800th point in the NHL. Oilers PP was ON. Oilers PK was REALLY ON. Oilers got the first goal (Nuge on the PP, Leon primary assist, McDavid secondary assist), the second goal (Leon from his office on the PP in the 2nd, McDavid primary assist, Nuge secondary assist) and McDavid in the 3rd period (he bounced it in off of the goalie because McDavid, Ekholm primary assist, Bouchard secondary assist). Nuge lost a 50/50 puck battle and Ekholm broke a stick and an odd bouncer went in to beat Skinner (basically a lucky goal wrecked the shutout). Hyman got an empty netter (assisted by Leon and Connor). So this game Leon 3 points, Connor 4, Nuge 2. This game was odd. The stats say Nashville should have won. Just more proof numbers lie. Nashville had 30 shots to 21 for the Oilers. Nashville won 30 faceoffs vs 22 for the Oilers. Oilers had double the giveaways of Nashville. Oilers had more takeaways (13 vs 9) and 5 more blocks. Rollin' Rollin' Rollin, keep those wins Rollin. Play La Bamba Baby!

  2. Goalies and defence are game changers and look it’s working for the oilers ! Keep it rolling boys 🎉🎉🎉

  3. Defence wins championship’s, it takes great goaltending with TEAM defence to win 16 in a row! Good to see a team push them to be better and keep the boys motivated to get 17? Every game from here on in are 2 pts that’s how they need look at it, they will lose some time it’s important to keep it in perspective when it comes to the overall standings. Perry will be the truculence they need going forward and Holloway doesn’t looks like a rookie this could be a good combo for Holloway.

  4. The Oilers play much better hockey today compared to the last few games.
Perry looks good on his first game as an Oilers. He does have slow feet compared to McLeod and Holloway.
Maybe should try to move Perry up to the 2nd line and move to reunite Foegle with McLoed.

  5. This is probably the formula for continued success. The last couple of years to much one dimension hockey. We look like a well rounded team. I believe in the long run this is awesome! GO OIL !

  6. Loved Nug's goal, if they are going to make it impossible for Bouchard to get the shot off, then they have to go to the high slot, great recognition and execution.

  7. Tough win against a good team. Good defensive game and Stew stood strong. Perry looked good for a player off for a couple of months. He fits in and makes the team tougher to play against. Knights up next. Thanks for the update.Enjoy Florida.

  8. I could see the Perry, Holloway, McLeod line as the shutdown line in the playoffs allowing our 1st and 2nd lines preferable matchups. Now we just need home ice so as to control the matchups, hope Vancouver has a bit of a slide so maybe the division could be within reach.

  9. hyman had career hi 36 goals last yr. he has a chance to beat his record later this year. concerning that a lot of teams seem better 5on5, but goalie & posts are pulling out wins. Need to be in Vegas in 10 days (6th) for chance to achieve longest win streak in nhl history that night…. will some go for a little holiday somewhere?
