He’s the captain of Putin’s favorite KHL team so this isn’t surprising. Hopefully with Svech, Orlov, Kochetkov, and Pono we have enough clout with the Ruskies to get him over here

For anyone criticizing him, what’s he supposed to do, tell Putin no?? Lol

I mean, it’s interesting to meet a leader of a country no matter how terrible.

With the world as it is, very hard to tell how this lands with him coming over.
We honestly don’t know if the kid has a vision to even come to North America.
But the teams doing all they can to get him here. Hiring his former coach, drafting more Russians and also bringing in Orlov was huge. Orlov discussed in a Russian interview how much it meant to have so many Russians to play with in Carolina and he runs a group chat with them all. I am sure he could help in the efforts.

I’ve just accepted he won’t be joining us and will be pleasantly surprised if he does

We already sign every shithead in the league, why would this matter at all?

I mean he’s the captain and I imagine him refusing to see the president would be a good way to get sent to the frontlines. It’s a messy situation so for me I’m not expecting to see him come over to North America. If he does, great! If not, then there’s other prospects to be excited about like Morrow
