Only way this makes sense is if you move out 1 or 2 of the existing dmen and try to attach sheary to free up $$$
Really don’t want to see us ship off guys like Crozier or Lilleberg if that’s what this is about. I’d like to have see good young players in the mix for a while.

Weird how people keep downvoting me and shit talking me for saying we’re in the market for a defenseman. Cernak is being paid 5.2 to play like a 3rd pairing dman for 45 games per year, and it isn’t going to get better as he gets older with the way he plays. JBB recognizes this and is looking towards some depth for a potential run this year, and likely beyond.
[DiMarco says JBB is looking at Sean Walker](https://twitter.com/adimarco25/status/1751754491341210108), who is one of the better and more underrated RHD’s in the NHL right now, and a part of the Flyer’s resurgence under Torts. It would be an absolute coup for us to snipe him, even better if we managed to offload Cernak later on and re-sign Walker.
I saw something about Tanev or Lyubushkin, not sure how I’d feel about either but Tanev is a pretty good defensive defenseman.
Wouldn’t mind this if it’s a guy like Walker and the right price, but I am respectfully asking JBB not to move our ’26 1st or Howard/Gauthier for a rental 3rd pair defensemen. Other than that, he can go crazy and I’ll trust him.
My biggest question is how? No real draft assets and I don’t want to see any of the Syracuse guys we’ve had up lately moved.

i wonder what jbb is thinking to move here, we know he prioritizes cap. we know he moves contracts early rather than late. i wonder if he’s thinking about moving cernak. gut feeling is that teams can outbid tb for walker if they just want draft capital
i don’t think he moves lilleberg but i do think he’s open to moving at least one of the dmen prospects. they have a lot of guys for not enough spots. of the dmen prospects we have seen so far declan carlile is the only one who needs a new contract next season. with crozier, lilleberg, and jack thompson all looking okay, maybe they solve two problems with one trade
the other thing i think philly *could* be interested in is a goalie. they just lost carter hart and he probably isn’t coming back…but ofc they prob don’t want to trade hugo and jj is good value. hard to see them thinking hugo is ready for the nhl rn
