I mean. I’m a doomer. But wow. That was a team kicking out at 2.96 and went on one of those John Cena/Hulk Hogan comebacks in a match.

    I’m honestly stunned

  2. davegettlegod

Nearly all these goals came in unconventional ways by players you wouldn’t think would score. I hope they take note of that, they need some dirty goals and creativity

  4. yeyeman9

9-0 in the second game of back to backs is pretty insane

  5. Brocktarrr

Man, maybe they really hate Trouba’s ass lol

  6. Hionhelium87

We got a RRREIIINNNHARRRRT from Pidto and Vally there

  7. if that game didn’t show just how important it is for NYR to have puck movers in the lineup then idk what will

NYR added one of their best puck movers to the lineup and involuntarily removed 2 of their worst, and suddenly NYR wasn’t imploding defensively on a particularly consistent basis, *and* they were finally scoring at even strength (i believe that was their first game with more than 3 goals in the last 10ish+)

Gustafsson/Jones was absolutely rocking as a pair (they played as one in preseason and dominated) and it would behoove NYR to give that a long-term look, even with a fully healthy D corps

  8. 1-0 in the last 1. Take it for what it’s worth.

  9. Well I expect all the “what one piece gets us over the top?” And “lav for Jack Adams posts” tomorrow cause if the last few days are any indication this sub takes one game and says that’s the whole season

  10. Zero-jiggler

I don’t wanna here anyone taking shit about Zac Jones

  11. R4vi0981

Zach Jones played excellent. Glad some of the guys woke up tonight.

  12. BloodOfAStark

Is there a video of Mackey’s hit and fight?

  13. Rare_Recover8234

I could only watch the first period tonight, good to see that it helped the team, happy to help out.

  14. ItsHeadbangerG

Didn’t get to watch tonight, but I’m glad the boys royally spanked that sens ass. Now time for a long rest. Get those minds right, get recalibrated. Come back a brand new team after the AS break.

    See you on the 5th.

  15. Not having Trouba seemed to help, hopefully the front office understands that

  16. elfinito77

Quick made some big saves when this was 2-0, 2-1. Also when 5-2.

But those saves when we were still down are the game-savers…

Quick needs to get the nod for a couple weeks.  Unless they want to see if the break helps Igor…but short leash. He comes out of break with a stinker …gotta give Quick the reins for a 5-8 game run.

  17. Fancy_Combination436

I know Wheeler hasn’t exactly been lighting it up, but I just like him on the first line. Its almost more of a vibe thing, which I dont totally understand. Him and Mika dont have the same crazy chemistry like Laf and Bread, but something about it just feels right idk

  18. Key-Tip-7521

This game was a game that the rangers needed. On a night where every player, coach and fan wanted the break, but it turned out to be a night where everyone got introduced to a possible savior, Connor Mackey. This Episode of Rangers Hockey: *One More Time*, turned into *Canadian Jam.* The game the Rangers needed, the fans needed it. and so, the review

1st Period: Tensions were high among the base. Vally was mad, I was anxious, and everyone was in the gt ready to have a full blown Tony Soprano panic attack. Luckily not about ducks. Team looked good in the ozone. Until, oh man. A turnover that should not have happened. Key, wtf are you doing? bank that off the boards and out. FUCK MAN. But what started the change, the most criticized player on the team, Goodrow got into a fight. JQ was making saves to night.

2nd Period: Start off like shit. Key screened JQ on a Sens PPG and it felt like it was about to fall apart… again. Until, a late call up from Hartford. Who might have earned a spot on this team. Connor Mackey, brought some Jam. and I MEAN, JAM! Fighting the worse version of the Tkachuk. Which eventually led to a goal. First laf got one on a wraparound/deflection dirty area. Then, a set play on 4 on 4. Mika to the speeding horse meat known as Christopher James Kreider. Oh yeah they needed it. Then, after I criticized him, Zac « don’t call me Daniel » Jones got the GWG from a beaut pass from Bread. The goal scoring didn’t stop, Brodz aka Jonny got one, and in back to back games, Old Man Wheels got one too. What a turn around.

3rd Period: Game in full control. Smart playing. Yeah the didn’t score on the PP, but it was smart killing time. Bread got his 30th goal, an empty netter. and more importantly, Kakko got the extra point. « Wow it’s a nice goal! »

Lav said to get more physical aka bring some Jam, and the team did that. Meaning Mackey. He got the Hat. Nice turn around win. The team needed it, and we the fans needed it. JQ made big saves. this team showed up regardless of who it was against. More Importantly, Rangers Win! Still in 1st as we approach the break. And I mean EVERYONE, THE FANS, needs to take a break. recharge the batteries, go for a walk, do something productive w/yourself. Enjoy the break. Come back w/ POSITIVE VIBES! SCREW THE DOOMERS YO! Good win tonight! Break and then, onto the Avs

Rangers Oppie reached out and said « Take in the sheets. Two Points in the bag. »

onto the break and the Avs

God save the King. Back afta dis

Kakko scored so choose either one

  19. will122589

Didn’t watch it as I was watching the Royal Rumble but they needed this badly, they needed something to feel good going into that break and they got it.

Recharge, reset and come out in the second half and kick ass

  20. dankeykanng

Stopped watching the game in favor of the Royal Rumble

Man, I really wish I just kept watching the Rangers instead lol

  21. dcgirl98

Takeaways: We needed this win to end on an up note. They do know how to score! Nice to see Connor Mackey Mae his debut! Once we got going, we didn’t stop the goal party. Let’s hope the is break does them so good! See you Feb 5th when we take on the Avs. LGR!!

  22. EyeCloser

I will get a Connor Mackey tattoo if the Rangers win the Stanley Cup

  23. GoldServe2446

Amazing what having a goalie who can make a few saves gets you

  24. Zero-jiggler

Zac Jones haters have been silenced. He should stay up for a long while…

  25. RZAxlash

Any time we get a laf or kk goal is a positive. To get both in a win?!

  26. R4vi0981

Jones should stay up permanently.  He fits better with this team as a puck moving defenseman than some others, and he might be the best skater out of all our defensman.

Yea he’s not big, but he’s competitive.  The Rangers record was much better when he was in the lineup, just saying, probably not just because of him, but he had something to do with it.
