1. Ruff wouldn't want that bunch of sad sacks. If they get down a goal or so they give up, they are QUITTERS !!!. There are only a few of them that play hard and smart every night. Casey Mittlestadt is a warrior who fought hard to show he was NHL material. Thompson lost his mojo after his hand injury, Okposko is near aging out. Skinner is hot and cold, We do need a new coach who can get some accountability. I would like to see Paul Maurice take a rip.

  2. Hot take but keep Granato for at least another year. I personally think KA is more of the issue. A lot of people said they were prepared for a little regression this year but it seems they weren't…

  3. Don't be surprised to see Brindamour here in Buffalo coaching next season. Recall Kevyn wore the "A" while Rod wore the "C" in Carolina the year they won the Cup and they remain close friends. Rod has a different vision than Kevyn however, and that may not be a bad thing. Brindamour would no way no how have Jokiharhu on the top defense pairing. He would not have Olofsson on the team at all. The thing is don't forget the first move Rod made when took over Carolina was to tell management that he could not have Skinner on his team. It'd be interesting to see those two back together.

  4. We need a new head coach, almost every post game interview/press conference he describes on how the compete is not there and its all about pushing past it, although he never describes what the team needs to do better at specifically. This coach just seems like a friend to this group. He never addresses what went wrong, whether it be turnovers leading to 10 odd man rushes throughout the game, or a power play where no one is moving and they're all stranded at the blue line, or their horrible positional awareness off the puck on defence. It seems that the emotion picks up and they start trying a little more when there is a fight or something that ignites the crowd and makes the game more meaningful emotionally.

  5. Ill take Gallant , Berube or Quenville( if Bettman ever allows him to return to the NHL again) to replace Granato.Iwant a proven VETERAN coach to replace Granato , no more rookie head coaches in Buffalo. The Sabres also need to get rid of D coach Marty Wilford when and if they fire Granato . IMO DJ Smith would be a good candidate to replace Wilford.
Any one of those coaches would hold their players accountable and impose a new system with emphasis on D structure and being more physical.
Now is the time to fire Granato and Wilford as just look how a mid season coaching change helped Vancouver when they fired Bruce Boudreau last feb.

  6. Mike Babcock used the Sabres coaching job rumors as leverage to get more money and a coaching job in Toronto

  7. Don isn’t going anywhere this season, not even this calendar year I’d say. Who’d replace Granato? Who would actually come here that’s available? We missed are chance for Todd McClellan when they went for a soccer coach!?!? That’s the decision making around here

  8. Lindy in a heartbeat and maybe keep Granado as an assistant and try to get back Peca. And then have Peca replace him once Lindy is ready to retire
