I had no idea he was drafted by the Leafs but never got to play. Another Leafs L.

Played College then went pro right when the pandemic hit. Then the blues don’t have a farm team and he is shuffled around to Utica. Losing that year of pro hockey right after leaving hockey really slowed down his trajectory, but always had good raw tools

I had no clue that he played 79 games for us last year, I thought it was much less than that. I guess that says a lot about his impact this season because I notice him pretty much every game this year. It’s great to see his improvement, but it makes me kind of sad because he’s probably priced himself out of our lineup next season, oh well.

Three factors:
1. Management saw untapped potential in him that other teams did not
2. Coaching staff believing in him and teaching him to use his strengths
3. Joshua for putting in the hard to work to become a better player

He might score more goals this year in the NHL than he ever did in any other league.

Oportunity missed for Joshua Da-Glow up.

He’s a + value player now, but when he gets paid market you won’t be taking advantage of that cap efficiency.
Not a core player, so not really a need to pay market/overpay. The key to successful cap management is finding the next Joshua and not falling in love with the current one.

Thing is also, last year I thought was a pretty good year for the guy. I would have been happy with a 25pt season.

« This is Joshua’s break out season and he ends it on a line with Petey and Kuz as a blossoming power forward with 20g 30a while being defensively sound you heard it here first run on sentence. »
I wrote that 5 months ago during the offseason. Didn’t get everything right but he’s close to that pace while playing on the 3rd line and he’s been great defensively.
