    A lot of people’s favourite guy ever in the organization (probably mine). His ’87-’94 portion of his run as GM was the best team building in the history of Vancouver.

    I think some people blame him for the dicking around that caused Bure to want out of town, but Bure has always said great things about Quinn and they seemed to have stayed very close.

    His only downfall is he tried to stay uptempo during the dead puck era, and was unable to adjust.

    Great, great builder for the Canucks. I think the players loved him as well.

    Growing up there was just something about Pat Quinn that made him the embodiment of hockey to me. He played against Orr and Howe, was coach and GM in Vancouver and Toronto, and he was key to Canada finally winning a gold medal at the Olympics. I remember being shocked when he died, it just seemed like Pat Quinn would be around the game forever.
