He made the save before the hit, no penalty. Not surprised seeing another borderline tripping call involving Stutzle…

  2. Adam_Friedland_TAFS

Officiating this year is…just insanely bad

  3. crushade

Isn’t that similar to a d-man whose stick makes contact with the puck prior to tripping the other player? That’s not a penalty either if I’m not mistaken.

Refs are great, this league is so awesome wow!!! /s

  4. The-dopechaud

Timmy diving over Saros’ pad into a pool of embellishment shame, par for the course

  5. Business_Buffalo_981

    Horrendous dive. A Stutzle staple.

  6. Biff_Tannen-43

Absolutely horrible call there, he’s in the process of defending the net

  7. Striking_Economy5049

Wasn’t the rule changed where it doesn’t matter if you get the puck first, if you trip a guy you trip a guy?

  8. Alexander_Rover

I hate that diving little wuss called Stutzle

  9. Weird-Army-8792

Not a dive from stu, also not a penalty from saros . Refs were making trrrible calls both ways this game

  10. SnowArcaten

I was at the game in a sens jersey and thought the same. What the hell was the goalie supposed to do?

  11. BeeStar9230

Damn imagine getting penalized for making a save.

  12. Lazy_Glass_3292

He’s just supposed to let curl and drag it around him? He kicked the puck away then took Stutzle down, which doesn’t seem to take much these days

  13. ShmoopToThrill89

The nhl reffing right on par with nba and EPL reffing. Embarrassing

  14. MrMilesDavis

You guys remember when not that long ago you could torpedo players as the goaltender so long as you touched the puck first?

  15. Timmy didn’t dive. I wasn’t expecting the refs to call tripping on Saros on the play either. My only guess is they must have thought Saros further kicked his leg out after the save and that he was outside the blue paint. But that’s really hard to say at game speed.

  16. this_name_not_that

Wait. Stutzle diving? No way. s/

  17. Oldredeye2

I don’t think this is a dive, but it’s also not a penalty on the goalie. 🤦‍♂️

  18. Look at Stützle with that shit eating grin on his face looking at the ref.

  19. I mean.. no. The ref there blinked and didn’t see the save

  20. Critical_Ad_8946

Dostal also got penalized earlier this for making a save. It was up high and he was making a save from the ground and hit someone in the face just with his arm in the process of literally making the save and got called for. Asinine in both of these cases

  21. Irish1Car3Bomb1

Anything to do with “initiating contact outside of the crease”?

  22. gamer6663

Contact was with the puck first, this was a save, not a tripping call. What a fuck up ref

  23. Jonasthewicked2

    Taking flopping lessons from Lebron

  24. smilecrocodile1

And the ref will continue to be able to make calls like that with no repercussions. No accountability in officiating.
