  1. I say this as a Leafs fan, are the Leafs mentioned as being interested in every player ever? It seems like I haven't heard a trade rumour all season that didn't involve the Leafs.

  2. Yikes Flames fans. Giving Oilers a hard time for a gambling addict when you had Dube on your team. Oof

  3. I'd definetly trade tanev and lindholm for sure for picks, prospects and serviceable nhlers. But I want to keep hanafin as a flames fan. I dont think getting rid of 2 of our best defencemen is the way to go if we are retooling which ownership seems more keen on. I would rather sign hanafin for longer maybe a bit over priced than have only 1 defence pair that is above average (Weegar and anderson). Dont get me wrong tho gilbert is starting to turn out to be solid on the back end and we can always sign free agents or get some serviceable D in the trades from tanev and lindholm. (Coming from a flames fan)

  4. If Tanev is anything like his Bro Brandan in terms of work ethic, then I'd take him in a heart beat. As a past Winnipegger I've watched Brandon closesly, his bro, not so much. Brandon could litterley change the momentum of a hockey game in an instant, he was an absolute pleasure to watch and my favorite Jet of all time!!

  5. “What should they do?” This is such a difficult question because it depends entirely on offers we don’t know. The solution for a losing team isn’t to throw away our best players, it’s to trade them for something that fits the team better, so the other end of the trade is what makes the difference between “throwing away” and improving. With the flames being in this tough spot it’s gonna be hard to get actual value out of these trades, I think the team looks good on paper, something is off with the mentality and the coaching right now because it’s been clear to me when watching these past few games that the players just don’t want it bad enough, trading players could but doesn’t necessarily fix that.

  6. Even as an oiler fan I really miss the Johnny/Matthew flames from 2 seasons ago. In my opinion you guys were a 90% cup contender team, and just needed a few more adjustments. Its so sad it fell apart. I went to the saddledome a few weeks ago for the boa and it felt so weak. Thats the best game in hockey and it sucks that it doesnt feel that way right now.

  7. Sens need a RD to balance out the d they got 3 guys that are LD Sanderson, chabot ane chychrun that can all be on the first 2 paring. Also the gm of the sens steve staios mentioned how he wnats more veteran players in the lineup to mentor the group more. If the sens do get tanev i could see them giving brainstorm, kubalik and 1st round pick via Boston or Detroit but that might not be enough

  8. In terms of Hanifin, as nice as he would be long term (retool/rebuild), I wouldnt bank on him signing a deal in the offseason if the Flames arent contending for the next couple years and given that he might not want to stick around in Calgary. So Hanifin may very well need to be traded. Lindholm and Tanev are definite trade pieces.

  9. Might be possible for Vancouver to get both Tanev and Lindholm in one swoop if the price is right going back to Calgary. If that happens, Canucks would skyrocket their chances at the Cup….. only hurdle will be Bettman lol

  10. As an oilers fan this hurts my heart. Moving Matty was the beginning of the end.
But I agree all 3 need to go. Calgary can't limp in and pretend its all okay… just to get steamrolled in the first round.
And Linds to go to Van. idk how it works out, but make it happen.

  11. The smart play for Calgary would be trade all three of these players. The trouble is that most contending teams this season lack cap space.

  12. I think lindholm would fit in perfectly on that Vancouver team and could assist in a deep playoff (Maybe cup) run. And tanev is someone who I've always thought would be PERFECT in toronto, obviously they'd have some salaries to move around but tanev would he worth a lot to the leafs because they can score they just can't keep the score

  13. Send Lindholm to Vancouver for Kuzy, let's see what kind of flat-footed ingenuity him and Huberdeau can cook up on a line together

  14. I am not a good judge of these things, I can't tell whether he Flames are a good team underachieving, or an okayish team overachieving.
