As someone who lives in Winnipeg it baffles me that the players hate Winnipeg because it’s cold when Buffalo is out here postponing 2-3 games a year because they get 80 feet of snow in one day. I feel like “it’s cold” is the roundabout way of the players saying “it’s a gross city”.

If they want to stay in Arizona. They should just move to the TCC, 10,000 seats is no NHL Arena but it sure as hell is better than Mullet Arena.
Extreme_Bird_7646
As a Coyotes fan here in Phoenix I will admit it is a little embarrassing to have a professional team play in a college arena. But as a fan, it is pretty amazing to see a game at the Mullet arena! The atmosphere is very different and every seat is so damn close. It really is an experience that very few get to enjoy. The sad thing is, I don’t think there’s a future here in AZ for the team. The tax payers are not going to fund an arena, and if it’s built anywhere outside of Phoenix or Tempe, no one will go to games. The death of the team was when they moved out of downtown phoenix for their own arena out in Glendale. People from the Eastside of the valley would not travel to the games and people from the west valley are lower class that don’t follow hockey….
It will be sad to see the Coyotes leave Arizona, but at this point, it’s inevitable.

I live near the bay and go to many sharks games – they’re absolutely right lol, especially recently
Thankfully a winning season or two can fix this problem unlike the other 3 complaints

This organisation has been a joke since 1996. Bettmans lab experiment should’ve been killed 20 years ago, but instead he just keeps propping it up.
If Gretzky can’t change your organisation, you’re a joke.

Players are calling the arena everything from “Shit” to “Fucking Shit”

Look, regarding Mullet arena that’s a genuine concern when you’re in the NHL you shouldn’t be playing in a college hockey arena using college facilities. Carolina having shitty locker rooms is a valid complaint as well.
But the comments regarding the sharks fanbase or that « there is nothing to do » in Winnipeg while mildly funny also sound a bit diva-ish to me.
You’re not there on vacation, you’re there to play hockey and perform for people who paid money to see you. As long as the facilities are up to NHL standards and there is a nice hotel with good food that’s all that really matters.

I don’t see this helping to cheer up those sad, depressed Sharks fans.

So it’s from the athletic and just stolen (without credit) by “NHLBreakers” for likes. How did we get to this point where nobody credits reporters anymore?

“Cold, grey, nothing to do”?
Clearly they haven’t grabbed a Mickey and walked Polo Park all afternoon. Peak.

I’m taking in an Arizona game from Edmonton for this exact reason…
NHL level teams in a dirty local rink environment ?!?
Can’t wait.

It’s probably so embarrassing for the Arizona player to call that their “home” arena such a sad state move the team until you actually have an arena ready to go then bring them an expansion team

Winnipeg sucks and I’ve been to some pretty depressing places. I feel bad for them, hopefully they can win a championship at least.

As a very casual European fan who almost only watches the SHL, can someone please explain to me why the Coyotes are playing in a college hockey arena?
Why did they move in the first place? Whats the story that i have missed?

Honestly if I was in the NHL I’d rather be in a place like Winnipeg, Buffalo, Detroit. Denver is kind of best of both worlds, cold weather city but still get a great summer, intelligent but not overbearing fan base. I’d love a blue color city, fans who know what the fuck is going. I’d become a Gardner Minshew like figure, grow a handle bar mustache, grow some epic lettuce, drink cheap beer with locals at a dive bar. Fuck all that playing golf and clubbing and wearing joggers. Unfortunately I created this whole lore about the fan favorite NHL player I would be but I suck complete ass at hockey. Oh well.

“Cold. Gray, nothing to do.” That’s rich coming from Winnipeg.

It’s amazing Arizona still had a team with this mess. If this was happening in any Canadian market the team would have been pulled before 1 game was played

No one would’ve said anything about nothing to do in Winnipeg if they didn’t close down the TGI Fridays.

PNC is about kick off a major renovation, so the Carolina locker room issue could be resolved.
It’ll take a while for Winnipeg to get less cold, and Mullet belongs in the AHL.

Sharks mentioned! Lets goooo

There’s cold, and then there’s Winnipeg cold.

What? Michael Scott had a great time in Winnipeg.

PNC Arena is definitely a dump.
I’ve been down on the floor, in the locker rooms, in the random other catering areas/storage/etc. I’ve seen prep schools with nicer amenities on campus.

Lol ya Winnipeg!! Change everything about your city!! Haha poor cold northern Canadian cities…

😂“nothing to do” when most teams fly in and fly out the next day. Most things to do in Winnipeg center around diverse dining and outdoor sports like fishing and hiking, snowmoblies and off-road atv’s. Shit that NHL players don’t have time to do during season.
Just dumb surveys to get reactions from fanbases.

Lol Carolina’s GM takes our shitty locker rooms as a compliment. However we are fixing them this year. So hopefully those complaints go away.
