I hadn’t heard this much detail on Buff’s hit on Stone before.
It’s so much funnier that he tried to give him a warning before finishing one of the hardest hits that the league has ever seen

I was at that game. I feel like everyone in the arena saw it coming except for Mark Stone- like, you felt the air get sucked out of the barn as Buff lined him up. When Buff laid him out… My god. I’ll never forget it- like- you could *FEEL* the impact from your seat. I don’t think you’ll ever see another hit that hard and that clean again.

Buff was one of a kind. Imagine the absolute wreckage he could have laid down if he was a mean person. His mom did a great job raising him.

No man has ever been hit as hard+clean as Mark Stone

I have watched hockey for nearly 40 years and that was easily the biggest hit I have ever seen, and may ever see.
I don’t know how Stone ever played another game.
I probably would have been in a casket after that.

God I miss him.

I don’t think I’ve ever missed a player like I miss Buff, he was truly one of a kind.
That hit, Campbell on Unberger and Mitchell on Toews are the biggest I remember

I would give anything to have prime Buff on this year’s team.

Stone only came out for one shift after that hit, and at the faceoff dot buff slid down to Stones wing along the boards and was talking to him. Would love to know what he said.

I have never loved watching any NHL player more than 33. Selanne was great, KFC and The Butcher are great too, but Buff is my forever #1 Jet. We will never see another player like that ever.
