  1. Even though the last two Sens wins could just have easily resulted in losses, it remains, a win is a win. Dare I say that if Pinto had played from the beginning of the season, the Sens record would be much better than it is. Right now he is in fact the number one center based on his 200’ game despite the fact he has less than two seasons in the league.

  2. I hate to say this but pinto getting suspended brought his price down significantly. Fitting him on a 5mil x 4 years would be great.

  3. I would like to see Martin and Alfie come back next year, then in 2025-2026, Alfie might be ready. The other options out there don't look light years better

  4. Pinto affords the Sens the opportunity to ice 3 talented lines, all capable of scoring goals! Kubalik is a mystery to me. He's big, can really skate AND can score goals. I think he shiuld simplify his game and measure his performance based on kerping his counterpart OFF the score sheet. If he can master that, he could gain confidence to do much more. The coach SHOULD confidently roll a 4th line…anyone can play defencively (particularly if he can skate).

  5. Your team is almost there, just a couple moves is needed.I would look at moving Norris to Chicago for Jason Dickinson. That would give Ottawa 2 centers that can play second or third line. The other move would be Kubalik,Hamonic,Lassi Thomson and a second for Durzi in Arizona.A young right shot.I bet Dickinson had a couple goals in the 5 0 loss to Chicago😅

  6. Not gonna lie. Feb schedule looks very winnable. I'm gonna remain delusional during the break. Go Sens Go!

  7. So, everyone is enjoying Pinto’s comeback. We’re all talking about how important he is, we’re 31-5-5 when he has a point or whatever it is now. Yet… I still keep seeing people saying stuff like, “Let’s sign him to $2.5 for 3-4 years.” Are people insane? If Pinto even has a half decent abbreviated season, and has a 20 goal pace, proving last year wasn’t a fluke, he’s gonna command a LOT more money than that. MAYBE on a one-year deal you could get him in that price range… MAYBE.

I saw one guy in the post cast arguing, “You don’t pay a third line center $5.” Well, I have a question…. what do you pay a 20 goal scorer who kills penalties and makes your team better in pretty much every aspect? People need to get over this notion that Pinto is a “third line center.” He’s NOT. This is 2024. Shane Pinto is a “middle-six” center. He put up 20 goals as a rookie who was forced to play second line. He’s worth every penny of $5mil on a long-to-medium-term contract.

Remember when Pittsburgh had Crosby, Malkin, and J. Staal down the middle? Was Staal a “third line” center? Skill-wise, no. But he played on the third line on that team cause it was a great team. And that team won cups (plural). Paying Pinto $2.5-3 mil is a joke!

Edit: I’m sorry for the rant, but it’s pissing me off, and makes us look like a delusional fanbase.

  8. Sens rocking the following in the last 9 gp according to Trevor Shackles

    58.0 CF%
    58.22XCF%

Leaning in to Jacques’ more defensive system while retaining the high offence brings me back to my nostalgic early 2000s Senators. It’s still so early so definitely don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, especially considering they’ve played well down the stretch the last few years, but I like the promise this squad has shown the past month

  9. Season is a write-off. Slow start, constant turnovers/penalties. Changeovers in coaching/mgmt. Maybe next year, if off-season changes and practices occur?? but i have to think division leaders are going to have to mysteriously fall at the same time next year, if sens are improving. Sens collect your first round picks, etc, keep them handy because Sens know about injuries.

  10. i want the Sens to get as good a draft pick, now that everybody sees just how "playoff" ready they are, as they possibly can. If Sens finish higher then Canadiens then that means, Sens screwed up the draft order as well.

  11. Until the senators figure out how to win on these western road trips those lost points will be the difference of making the playoffs every season

  12. Chabot is at his best when he can go from slow and calculated to quick and decisive. A few times last night he really accelerated quickly when he had to, and had some smart stick plays when he had to. Some urgency when he's in a tight spot is what he seemed to be lacking earlier this year

  13. Well I believe if Pinto don't want time off , practice with his trainer& the goalie, you know to work on some tricks!!!Go Sens Go!🎉

  14. I would like to point out that if we all think Pinto is as great as he is, he is going to ask for the same 8x8mil contract Norris has. That's the corner we've backed ourselves into

  15. Is it just me or whenever the sens beat another team, that teams fan base says “congrats you won your Stanley cup” ? That and “Rent free” are all they ever say lol

  16. What do you guys think about the sens reportedly being in on a Tanev trade? Personally I think he’s just too old and it makes no sense. If he was 4 years young ya it would be awesome but this is a young team. I get they need vets but I mean 34 is just too old especially when you’re trading and signing a guy for the next few years.
