I like this. My only concern is his health and injuries. He’s great on faceoffs and definitely should help our center depth and 2nd line offense

I understand the skepticism, but I think if he plays for the Jets it will be so so beneficial. 35 points in 49 games on a hot and cold Habs team. If he stays healthy all year, he could have a lot of fun with the depth of wingers the Jets have.

I think within reason it doesn’t really matter the cost. This is a team with a legit Cup chance. They can’t worry about a first rounder or a good prospect.

Looks like a 1st & a conditional pick? I don’t hate it, I’m glad they didn’t give up any prospects, if true, for Monahan.. Low risk, high reward imo.

Chevy doesn’t throw around 1st rounders very lightly wonder if anything else is coming back from MTL with Mony. If there was ever a year to burn a 1st this is it though, we have an established prospect pool and the pick will be 25-32 (hopefully) anyway.
Listen this is sounding a bit pricey.. but the idea is to win now while we have a competitive team. We’ve been draft and develop team for years, but it’s now time to win. Of course this could come back to bite us in the future, but I like taking a risk for once.

Flames fan, Winnipeger, and Jets are my second team. I’m a big Monahan fan. The guy was great for the Flames and just needed a fresh start in Montreal after all those injuries. He will be a fan favorite here. Leadership, 2-way player, scores, plays defense. I’m excited to cheer for him and happy he’s on a great team.
