  1. The Wild are building up their prospects. They'll likely get a top 10 pick this year. Wallstedt, Rossi, Boldy, Khusnutdinov, Yurov, Ohgren, along with others and potential free agent signings and trades, the team could be very good in as little as 1.5 years when they have another $13 million to work with.

  2. spot on assessment. People weren't ready for the pain of these buy-outs, that's been the biggest eye-sore I've seen so far this season. Unrealistic expectations from Owner Leipold, to Billy G's missteps of extending Hartman, Foligno and Zuccy, all the way down to the fanbase thinking this is a playoff team. Billy could have just waited, and received an absolute HAUL for these dudes by the deadline. Can he still recover from this mistake? Sure, but all eyes are on him now…and time will tell. But stick a fork in this season, it's been done for a while now.

  3. Hey somebodies gotta finish 3rd in the divison and lose in the 1st round every year. Until now i guess

  4. I’d love to see an actual “all-time” power rankings.

Starting from when the sport of hockey was invented.

  6. Shannon makes an interesting point about Minnesota sports mediocrity. I had not realized how middle of the road all their teams always are.

  7. Minnesota sports is the definition of Mid tier.

Unless its miracle on ice, mn doesn't have the best track record

  8. Faber has never been an offensive defenseman. He's just learning the PP and getting more opportunities now. His upside in that area looks good, but is still developing.

  9. this series is quite interesting because we can finally see which teams you favor and which you don't in the power ranking : Minnesota is 12th in point % yet you ranked them on average at 16th… while Colombus was favored, being 29th (I believe) in point % and 22nd (again if I remember correctly) in power rankings

  10. Parise and Suter were rough signings. Soft rebuild is the route they should go. Sell high on the 27-30ish players if you can. Ek would bring back some good assets. Rangers need a C.

  11. They’ve consistently been eh, too good to suck but not good enough to be great.

  12. The Mediocre Wild frequently make the playoffs but then swiftly burn out in the first round. One Conference Final trip back in 2003, and it was a calamity: one goal in four games against the Mighty Ducks.

  13. As a Scottish Minnesota fan all of this is totally valid and do not feel that any critic here is not valid. We are from being a total contender and should expect a few bad years

  14. Being smack in the middle is the most fitting thing, good but not good enough
