Sean Monahan se dirige vers les Jets de Winnipeg

C’est un autre métier pendant mes vacances en Californie. Faites-moi savoir ce que vous pensez de celui-ci, même si les détails exacts restent à venir.

  1. The Habs got two 1sts for monahan, one to take him from calgary, and one to ship him to wpg. I don't get the armchair GM's hating on hughes for this trade. I believe Kent has 1-2 more trades coming before the deadline, and will use their last salary retention spot to get great value, just like he did in the initial monahan trade(Though better value may be in dumping one of 3 really bad contracts courtesy of Bergevin).

  2. Sounds like a win-win for both teams. He wasn't going to stay in Montreal and the Habs could use some more picks while they rebuild.

  3. Monahan deserved a 1st rounder back to the HABS for sure…but I think Winnipeg got the better end of this deal, Winnipeg's first wound pick will be high in the draft so Montreal is not getting a high 1st found draft so….

  4. lets put this into perspective for jets fans
    Trade
    Pierre Luc Dubois
1st round pick 2024 (weak draft class, high pick)
3rd round conditional draft pick (if jets win the cup)

    Gabe Vilardi
    Alex Iafallo
    Rasmus Kupari
    Sean Monahan
2nd round draft pick (Mtl pick, will be low)

they gave up 10-15 spots in the 2024 draft for a second line center.. yet everyone wants to talk about ken hughes, le sigh.

  5. I think Jets will regret it come playoffa if he can even make it there.

Two major hip surgeries and a groin surgery.

Wish him the best but time isnt on his side.

  6. From the NHL site:

"Montreal received a first-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft and a conditional third-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft."

  7. Kent Hughes traded cap space to Calgary for 2 1sts and 2 years with Monahan? Wow, he should be up for the Jack Adams.

  8. It was announced that the conditional third could become a first if the Jets win the Stanley Cup, LMAO! You should do a video of some of the most interesting conditions on trades like this one because I feel like there could be some content there.

  9. I loved Monahan on the Ottawa 67s in Junior and am happy he's going to the Jets. The West if heating up after the Lindholm trade the other day. Cheers

  10. We got 2 first round picks and a 3rd for letting Monahan play for us lol. Not too shabby for a trade tree starting with future considerations lol. I'm glad we dealt him now though, he's great but injury prone. Didn't want him going down and us getting nothing again

  11. Even if Monahan isn't the player he once was, it makes sense for the Jets to load up this year. With so many expiring contracts over the next two or three seasons it seems like it's now or never

  12. If it wasn't for the injuries history and the one year contract, Monahan would have cost probably at least a second pick more or a young prospect. Lindholm trade set up the market for center. I've seen Monahan all year and he is almost back to his best when he was with the Flames ! He played both center and wing, powerplay and penalty kill and he is a very good guys with the young player, easy to coach !! It was a good move for Winnipeg, very multitask and in case of injuries to other pieces in offence, he will do the work ! I wish you sincerely good luck Jets fans, hoping for a long run in the playoff and really hope he signs back in Montréal at the end of the year…Slafkovsky and Dach really love that guy and he was a good influence !!

  13. The Jets conditional 3rd round is if they win the Stanley Cup only. The Jets have been having trouble in the face off circle, Monahan will help. Losing faceoffs on the power play costs the Jets 20 seconds every time it seems. Monahan will have Ehlers on 1 wing so that should drive a little O.Zone time. Overall Jets improve a little.

  14. 1:13 I know it's already established what the condition is, but just a reminder that as of the latest CBA you can't have a condition in a trade based on a player re-signing.

  15. Of course Monahan makes the Jets better but not nearly as much as Lindholm makes Nucks better🤷‍♂

  16. Id say in the future its perfectly acceptable for you to wear that hat when talking about the Ducks 😂

  17. The holiday videos further prove something has happened with the audio on the home set, cause these are the first videos in weeks that I don't need to put on max volume to hear.

  18. Monahan is exactly what the Jets needed up front. The Jets were lacking depth at centre and the injury to Schefele highlighted that. Monahan gives them a legit #2 centre. The Jets are weak on face-offs and Monahan gives them one of the better face-off guys in the league. The Jets are struggling on the PP, especially the second unit. Monahan is pretty good on the PP. Plus Monahan plays well with younger players and is highly respected in the locker room.
Now if the Jets can address a weakness on the right side of their D, they're going to be pretty strong down the stretch, baring injuries.

That said, I was hoping the Habs might be able to pry McGroarty out of Winnipeg, but a first rounder is still pretty good.

  19. Great pick up for the Jets, a very late 1st round pick plus a 3rd round pick in 2027 after the Jets win the Cup later this spring, he adds a much needed C that win faceoffs, he brings added help on a lethargic PP, thank you Habs for helping in bringing a Cup to Winnipeg.
