  1. they either sign him and let a bunch of their bottom 6 ufa's walk and become the TML or they make their run with him and say goodbye. but by this summer we'll know what petie is going to do and maybe they will be keeping him. on another pod it was said hunter see's his role as an offensive defence man in the nhl and wasn't too interested in playing 2nd fiddle to hughes which suggests he might not sign with the canucks so…

  2. 7×7 and EL stays. Swedes stick together. Petey already said this today. The flames fans comparing HB(unsigned) to Fox is comical, he walked. Their core of JG, MT and EL walked as well. They also traded Monahan and a 1st for nothing. Rough times.

  3. My guess is the plan is to go all in, raise their value, and d trade garland and Mikheyev at the draft to recoup capital and picks.

They’re going to want to rock with a core of Petey, Miller, Lindholm, Boeser, Hughes, and Hronek.

3 2 way elite centers, an elite goal scorer, and 2 elite dmen.

One of the best cores in the league

  4. It depends on price and how well he fits in. If he’s great and can be had for a reasonable price because he wants to play with Pettersson, Zadorov can walk and we bring in Tanev on a team friendly contract.

  5. Brzustewicz was not only a B grade prospect. He wasn't signing with the Canucks. They offered him a contract at camp when they singed Mynio and young, we didn't sign then and he hadn't signed 4 months later.

  6. canucks can't afford lindholm with the current layout. Minus Kuzmenko, Cole, Myers, and Zadorov they save 18.25

lose 1m from raise cap, minus OEL buy out.
    petey's going to take +4.65, hronek, +4.0
blueger and joshua will take a raise. say +1 each.
so you have ~7.5 to sign lindholm, zadorov, cole, and de smith

but kuzmenko was a necessary dump. canucks didn't have enough for next year's petey deal. and the canucks did just as well this year without him.

in the event petey doesn't really sign — if that's a reality? then sure… but that's a different world

  7. Lindy was a ghost. If he wanted to stay in CGY it sure didn't look like it. However, he gave us some great years, and I wish him luck!

  8. 2nd line centers average $5M per. At the top is $5.9. If he wants more, he has to show he's a top line guy which means he has to out play JT Miller.

  9. He ain’t resigning. He’ll get too much on the open market. What we payed is indicative of this. It’ll be a fun ride though. Go Canucks Go!

  10. what if he wants to do a short term contract because his contract year was lackluster ? do you give him say 6 x 1 and basically get another year of service out of him. in return he gets a year on a better team to showcase hmself to league, get another playoff run, and maybe get the bag a year and a bit from now

  11. It'd be nice if we can resign him, they were gonna pay Kuzmenko 5.5 million next year anyway so if we can get Lindholm for say 3 years at 6 million per it's not much extra money wise. If we don't, we don't, there's lots of good stuff going on in Abbotsford these days too.

  12. I love how Vancouver fans are banking on Calgary’s under performing roster the reason lindholm is sucking you better hope that’s the case otherwise yikes lol as a flames fan he had his chances he mailed it in and he wanted close to 9 mil per year in a contract

  13. The truth is: if they re-sign him for a discount, it was a fair trade. If they re-sign for what he’s looking for, it was an overpay that may cost us down the road or May end up looking like a good trade depending if he can bounce back…. If they don’t re-sign him, it was a MASSIVE over pay (unless we win the cup and he’s a key contributor… in which case. Fair trade)

  14. I have faith in management to resign him if they don’t they will definitely add someone around his value at free agency

  15. First of all do they re up EP40? Have you done a vid on this?
Then, they gotta afford this against the cap. Hronek has to be re upped as well. There is a lot to talk about here.

  16. It is far too early to say whether Lindholm should be re-signed… I agree that, if the addition of Lindholm means the Canucks may actually win the Stanley Cup, then who cares if he walks after this season. I think the fact that the likes of Lekkerimaki, Bains, Podkilzin, EP the D, and Wilander all remain Canuck properties as of right now means the team has not totally mortgaged its future for a run this season. If Lindholm is not working out, let him walk – the team has gotten valuable playoff experience this year, and can make some quick adjustments and try again in 24-25 with the core very much still in their prime and under contract.

  17. It is not whether we can sign him it is can we afford him. How much money will be available? OELs buy out kicks in and we lose one good player every year till it is over. Out of players who need to be signed who gets to stay. This is our year to win because OELs buy out will be a issue till it is done. We may never get this chance for years. Management has done miracles but there will have to be some inventive book keeping.
