Not saying it’s a good idea, but we keep talking about the lack of playoff experience, this MF has 3 cups, tocchett knows him well and by all accounts he’s a great guy in the room. And likely league minimum…

We need brothas who can forecheck

He barely played in the playoffs with Vegas but Vegas players reported that he’d show up to the rink and just be himself and make people laugh and relax.
You need someone like that even if they’re just in literal emotional and moral support roles lol. Not saying our players can’t do that but nothing wrong with a league min signing of Kessel who’s a certified champion and one helluva player with tons of experience.

If Kessel signs I have to buy a jersey.

Knowing this organization and how cursed we are. The last thing I want is for us to be responsible for ending Phil’s streak and dooming us for the next century.

We’ve been pretty fortunate with injuries to our top scorers (knock on wood), so there isn’t really room for him. I wouldn’t mind him as an emergency option if someone does end up hurt, but I’m not sure he wants to come back if he isn’t going to play.
Could see the Avs picking him up with Nichushkin out indefinitely tbh

« Hey Phil, we have a Costco food window next the rink, here’s $1.50. Now hop in, we are going to the playoffs. » – Canucks Managment.
