I just can't get on board with this team, even with Roy as the new hc, which I think is a good move but ultimately will be futile
A rebuild is on the horizon (perhaps a mini rebuild due to various contracts)
There are some excellent pieces to build from:Bazal, Horvat, Sorokin, and the big 4 on defence Dobson, Pulock, Pelech and Mayfield
No offense to barzal but so what? It was a glorified 3 on 3 ot skills fest perfect for the skill guys like barzal. This is what the all star game in the bettman era has been relegated to since the players long ago showed they don't care about the fkn thing and wouldn't play a lick of d or bother to lay a hit in it. Thanks bettman you p0 shit. North america vs. the world was a fine concept for all star game. They were competitive games. Except that was nixed by bettman before it could grow into a rival game so he could turn a s g into the circus it is today.
And louzers moves could lead to a trade? Why? Not one trade louzer can make will change the fortunes of this team. What isles need are out of his reach and he is a fool for even contemplating a deal at this point. I seriously hope isles sputter to preserve that first that will have to go in any deal. Of course there is no guarantee louzer wont deal the first at draft for another bottom line d man or third liner.
Just face the facts-even if isles get in they will be one and done quickly. Isles only went six with canes last playoff because car. was down to just one scorer. And east will look different in a few weeks once teams load up. Wings will make a move. Pens are contemplating moving guetzel. b's will do something. Isles virtually can't do shit. Those trotz days of playoff success and shut down playoff style are 3, 4, 5 years ago now. 3 is ineffective and broken down now. 44 was good in the bubble-4 years ago. Isles are incapable of that success now. Just face it louzer-SELL at tdl. And as louzer snoozes west teams are loading up. van. got lindholm for kuz. Jets got their center in monahan deal. Good morning team. Gil, excellent show, again. The skills competition was really fun to watch. I knew Barzy had the one goal, but was WOWed when I learned he had 5 assists. He certainly knows how to set up goals! Yes I agree, years ago, the players took the all star game VERY seriously! Even though, I absolutely know why the team did it, even though for now, it's only on paper, I'm bummed about Gauthier and Holmstrom. Just had to say that.
