Great video. I agree with everything you said about Zegras. Have to disagree with you on Vatrano. He is only 29 and will likely break 30 goals for the first time in his career. He is solid on the PK and blocks shots also. I think he will still be a good player when the Ducks are a Cup contender again, hopefully in the next few years. He still has another year left on his contract so there is plenty of time to re-sign him. Henrique and Silfverberg, OTOH, should be traded before the deadline.

He's not overrated because of his playing, he's overhyped because of the media coverage he gets for his fancy goals. Not hating, I just think that's everyone's excuse for calling him overrated.

Team didnt really want to sign him in the offseason and also has been shopping him around lately. Even upper management know he is overrated.
if you look at stats, he has a down year, but he plays better defensivly.
He’s slow at developing sure, but he isn’t nearly the player everyone thought he’d be at this point in his career. Sure he’s got 146 in 200 but he’s also -44 which is fucking horrendous.
IMO, the league overhyped some players, making it almost unbearable for all the hate this decision brings. Look at Bedard this year. He's a great player, don't get me wrong, but is he worth all the publicity he's getting (even when he's on IR)? I don't think so.
On the other hand, some other players or teams are never talked about who are probably 10x better than the overhyped ones.

Theres a conflation within the league of overrated vs. overrepresented. Zegras is a good player, but nobody is saying or has really ever said hes an elite star. He is absolutely overrepresented in NHL media (i.e. NHL23 cover, commercials, etc.) He's a young, flashy, cocky, hip kid and they use him as marketing appeal to attract Gen Z to hockey, as NHL has had serious problems in attracting this demographic. Most NHL players are dull, boring robots. Zegras is the exact opposite, so they put his face all over. Zegras is a marketing machine being exploited. There is nothing wrong with that, but people, and even other players are unable to see what exactly Zegras is. He is a good 2nd/3rd line center (that should be a full time winger). He is not and likely will never be elite, but he is still just good enough to somewhat justify how much hes marketed.
